Unique and totally handmade mummified fairy
This is Asha. Whilst she has been mummified, she is very much alive and brings hope and expectation to dark and gloomy times.
Yes she has aged - her bandages are torn and grubby, her wings are tattered, her face is crumpled - but she still sees and feels the beauty within.
Asha is handmade with armature wire, cotton wool, recycled fabrics and her head is polymer clay.

Taking advantage of being rained-off this morning. The next stage of my project is to wrap her in bandages. I’m a little bit in love with her already she’s a pleasure to work on

It’s been sooooo good to get back in ‘the art room’. I think I lost my mojo for a while, pushed everything to one side and temporarily shut the doors.
But hey it’s been an incredible summer and I’ve spent a lot of time in the great outdoors.
Back to it now though and feeling really positive about this new project 😜

I don’t know why I LOVE making weird stuff! I don’t even watch horror films so I don’t know where this passion for dark stuff comes from. What I do know is that I love it and creativity flows easily here
