The decision to cancel the last day of show was devastating but the right call.

We were safe and cosy in our huge marquee but so many lost their gazebos, stock and set ups. Thank you amazing Cornwall community who came to the rescue and pulled together to support so many of my perishable food producer friends so their losses were not greater.

Saying this, I am so grateful that I did have two super days trading and saw so many friends and both new and repeat customers. THANK YOU for supporting my little business- it means the world. I’m not put off and will definitely be returning to the show if they’ll have me next year- but I may start praying to the weather gods a little earlier!

So, I’ve dusted myself down, regrouped and am ready to go again. This week I’ll be heading to on Tuesday and Thursday for a slightly more relaxing couple of days trading 🤞🏻next to that beautiful harbour- weather permitting 🙏🏻!

Porthleven Harbour. Just lovely.

I’ll be here all day today- )the forecast is looking much better later on), trading and watching the tide as it ebbs and flows. If you can’t visit, I hope you enjoy this view. I won’t be here this Thursday as I’ll be from 4th-6th June… it’s a biggie!

Pulling big prints is a nerve wracking moment.

After nearly an hour of back breaking hand burnishing to make sure every area has taken, it’s a crucial moment. Nothing is more disappointing than finding you’ve missed a bit or an area has moved so the print becomes a second- or worse heads to recycling. Luckily the print gods were with me for this session.

This has become popular and includes everything Cornwall; an engine house, cornishware, choughs, the sea, surf and thrift.

I’m getting ready for starting this Thursday 4th until Saturday 6th June. I’ll be in the Westcountry Arts and Crafts tent and praying that this will be dry in time!

I’m having the get up very early at the moment to print these.

Two reasons, firstly to avoid the ink getting too warm and loose. Secondly, it takes a huge amount of effort and energy to burnish the big areas of flat black- so cooler is better so I don’t pass out!

Round two today- in navy… wish me luck! 💪🏼

I didn’t stop, but I gave myself a break.

It was hot, I’d worked really hard for weeks preparing for my mammoth weekend, so I slowed down and pottered. Got lots done, but slowly. The mint is planted out (behind the bamboo barrier), cakes baked, visiting children entertained, various other things, and finally weeding in evening as it cooled. Today I’m up early and ready to go again… I need to print before it gets too hot.

Tomorrow I’m off to my regular slot in the pergolas to watch the boats and world go by. I’ll be there pretty much every Tuesday and Thursday from now on until the end of September weather permitting!
