Another Grandfather clock ready to return to their owners house.
This one went through a movement rebuild and some modifications to the case to get it level enough to work.

Now all polished up and keeping good time.
Hope to get back to clock repairs over the Christmas period when I get a small break from my day job.🕰👍

Managed to grab an hours worth of work on clocks on my way home this evening.. always nice to hear the beating heart of a clock thats been silent for many years.
New gut lines and a rebuild / serviced movement... should be good for a another 200 years. 🕰👍

Ive been very quiet on here lately.. the reason a very busy year so far in the oil, gas & renewables industrys. This keeps me very busy at my day time job in Oldmeldrum.
However as the darker nights draw in Im slowly getting back to clock repairs.
Tonights job was replacing a clutch spring on this tempus fugit grandfather clock and repairing a large wall clock chimes... 🕰👍

Can't believe my last post was on the 26th of February...
The reason... been very very busy with my real job building this monstrosity of a subsea dredger... thats designed to uncover WW2 bombs in the seabed...
Anyway thats now done and out the door.. time for a wee bit of breathing space to get caught up... tonights job involved very small parts and a steady hand as I replaced the hair spring on this 1950's Ingersoll Mickey Mouse.. poor Mickey had not run in a while.. but is now back working again....

Another happy clock! The owner was being driven mad by the fact the clock was striking completely out of time and no matter how many times he tried to correct it.. it would strike wrong once which would put it completely out of sync over the course of a week, a worn count wheel was the problem and after some careful silver soldering saw new metal added to the count wheel in various places to build back up the correct gab for each hour to correct the timing.. after a good scrub up in the sonic bath and reassembly its now striking perfectly once more.... 🕰👍
