We recently framed this fabulously bright, dotty tree picture by Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama. Days after the picture was collected, we heard that the 97 year old had passed away leaving behind a vibrant legacy of art, covering a vast spectrum from painting and sculpture to film and fashion, working with the likes of Louis Vuitton. Spanning nearly a century of work, her influence will no doubt be seen for years to come!

On National Vietnam Day, commemorating the historic date in 1945, when Vietnam gained its independence.

This needlework of Vietnamese fishing boats came to us for framing from a customer who had visited the country. It uses their own unique traditional hand-stitched embroidery style, using much longer lengths of thread on much of the piece than is usually seen.

It's National Dog Day, so here is our latest dog portrait that we've had in for framing.

This one was to re-use a customer frame and glass, but we added a new mount to fit the portrait and gave it all a good clean up, refitting it with our Art-Bak Conservation backing we use as standard, plus new hangings ready to go!

A small gold frame holding four precious gold coins! The customer wanted to show the front and reverse of these two American coins, so we countersunk them next to each other in to the black mount. This displays them neatly, ensures they are secure and most importantly avoids any glue or anything that would cause damage to the items. They are now safely preserved for display for years to come.

It's World Elephant Day and if you look closely, you'll see that this colourful Indian elephant baby and mum pair are in fact a completed jigsaw puzzle!

We glued it on to the mount board to secure it in place and it really stands out against the dark background, with a colourful red moulding to finish the look. 🐘

The process of framing a tapestry takes a little while! To begin with it has to be stretched for at least 24 hours, usually longer! Then we repeat the process in the other direction until it is nice and flat. After this it is laced before we can then finally frame it.

Mark recently stretched this glorious birds eye view of the Thames in the heart of London. With Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster on the left bathed in an evening sunset glow and the London Eye opposite, this oil painting is filled with complimentary colours of rich oranges and blues, turning a familiar setting into a stunning scene.

A piece of fabulously bright pink seaweed titled 'Sea Beech' originating from Jura in Scotland. This original pressing, by Sound of Jura Seaweeds was face mounted onto a Maroon acid free mount board and framed in Larson-Juhl UK's Lancaster Black moulding. A spacer behind the anti-reflective glass ensures the seaweed is preserved and protected for years to come.
