What started as a joke… escalated slightly 😅🌶️

After Phil Harrison got insanely close in our seed counter competition, we ended up printing this absolutely ridiculous GIANT Carolina Reaper keychain 😂🔥

The print took nearly 2 DAYS to complete on the 3D printer 🤯

The first attempt actually failed when removing the supports because I only used one wall thickness 😭

To make things even more stupid… during the failed print I secretly dropped a packet of Carolina Reaper seeds INSIDE the model while it was printing, so the giant pepper now has seeds trapped inside it forever like some kind of spicy archaeological artefact 🌶️🤣

The second print survived thankfully 😅

Claire McLaren if you want the failed print as runner up, I’m happy to send it to you too 😂

(It’s only the keyring loop/block that snapped off 😉)

Another little project finished 🌶️🛠️

First run of our homemade seed cleaner in action, helping separate chilli seeds from flakes, dust and debris after processing. It works using airflow from a hoover/vacuum, which pulls away the lighter material and empty seeds while the heavier, viable seeds drop into the collection tray below.

It’s surprisingly effective and saves a huge amount of time compared with cleaning seeds by hand!

The cleaner was built by Ed Jeffries using the excellent DIY plans from Real Seeds
— massive thanks to them for openly sharing the design.

We’ve added a video to this post so you can see it working properly… it’s strangely satisfying to watch 😂

Our Biker Billy Knight chilli is starting to flower and set its first pods already 😍

Looks like these are going to be stunning variegated plants, with dark stems, crazy patterned leaves and purple flowers — it honestly looks more like an ornamental than a chilli plant 😅

But don’t let the looks fool you… this one is meant to pack a decent kick too 🔥

Definitely one of the coolest and most unusual plants we’re growing this season 💜🌶️

Meet our fancy new Swiss-made seed counter 🇨🇭🌱

Watching tiny Goji Berry seeds get counted at ridiculous speed is weirdly satisfying 😂

This video only gets to around 1800 seeds… but there were STILL loads left in the bowl afterwards 👀

So go on then… how many seeds do you reckon the machine counted in total? 🤔

BUT… if someone gets within 500 seeds of the correct answer (closest guess wins) , you can instead choose this absolutely ridiculous giant Carolina Reaper keychain 😅🌶️

(Yes, it really takes nearly 2 days to print 😂)

Just a few of the super hots we are growing this year 🌶️🔥

These are heading outside tomorrow and there’s some absolute monsters for May in there already 😅

We’ve already got around 200 annuums and rocotos outside hardening off, while the next batch is being seeded right now… the chilli madness never stops 🌱

This year’s grow list is honestly ridiculous 🌶️😂
Superhots, variegateds, rare crosses, stripy pods, purple plants… and probably not enough space for any of them.

BLUE BEANS! 💙 Yes… they’re real 🤩

These stunning beans are called “Nonna Agnes Blue” (also known as San Bernardo Blue) and were originally sourced from Bernardo, Italy 🇮🇹

Just look at that incredible Capri-blue colour 😍 The colour is incredible in sunlight, with shades of indigo, navy and metallic blue all mixed together.
Honestly one of the most unusual bean varieties we’ve ever had our hands on.

They’re not just pretty either 😉
A fantastic shelly bean for soups, stews, salads and dips — similar in use to pinto or black beans, with a lovely rich texture and flavour.

We’re currently building stock and hoping to have seeds available around July 🌱

Probably one of the prettiest chilli plants we grow 😉 🌶️💜

Buena Mulata starts off deep purple and then ripens through all sorts of crazy colours before finishing red. Proper unusual variety and the plants look amazing loaded with pods.

Not just a novelty either, they’ve got a nice medium heat and great flavour too💜🔥

The Spider Army has officially clocked in 🕷️
Hundreds of tiny hunters, freshly hatched orb-weaver spiders, ready for duty — and not just one batch… we’ve got multiple nests across the polytunnel 👀
No wages, no complaints — just straight to work eating anything that shouldn’t be there.
Honestly, better staff than most 😂
