Most people choose a carpet and forget about the underlay. But it's what makes a carpet feel soft, stay warm and last longer.

Our 8mm PU underlay is £30 a bag, which works out at about £2 per m². One bag covers 15m².

What's the best flooring for a kitchen? Spills, dropped pans, muddy feet from the garden, kitchens take a battering most other rooms don't.

LVT and vinyl are usually the go-to: waterproof, scratch-resistant, and easy to wipe clean without constantly watching it. They also come in wood and tile effect finishes now, so you're not sacrificing the look for practicality.

Laminate can also be an affordable alternative that replicates wood or stone. However, it isn't always as moisture-resistant as vinyl, and requires a quick cleanup for any spills.
