Katie Almond ceramics Ceramic designer maker. Hand-painted, unique and quirky porcelain pieces shop www.katiealmond.co.uk

I produce hand-painted porcelain jugs, cups, cake stands and brooches made using a variety of slip casting and hand-building techniques. Each piece is essentially a canvas for decoration and collage as I combine drawings with found ephemera. I am inspired by nostalgia, old paper ephemera, vintage textiles and a love of drawing.

It’s going to be a busy few months! Here is where you can find me in person this festive season… 🇬🇧 🙋🏻‍♀️

This time next week I’ll be setting up Crafty Fox Market | Est. 2010 and I can’t wait!

Alongside 100+ indie makers celebrating creativity, craftsmanship and amazing small businesses.

Markets are about soooo much more than shopping. They are a chance to meet and connect with the individuals behind the products/brand, hear the stories, support independent businesses and spend time exploring our vibrant capital city.

If you are heading to London then you could make a day of it. Browse the shops nearby, walk the canal, enjoy the neighbouring markets (the food one next door always smells divine) plus all of the other cafes and restaurants in the area.

I’ll be taking lots of my popular items with me; from candle holders, dishes, to jewellery items. Maybe even a sneaky new piece or two I’ve been working on. I can’t wait to meet you and chat all things craft and ceramics 🩷

When: Sunday the 19th July 11-5pm
📍 The crossing, Granary Square, King’s Cross, London King's Cross N1C
💴 Free entry and accessible venue
🐕 Dog Friendly
100+ makers
Something for everyone!

I don’t usually put a lot of personal things on here, and I’ve only just been able to write this, but last week I had to say goodbye to my little studio buddy 💔
He had been with me everyday in the workshop since the early days.
It’s really hard sometimes when you work in your own but he was always there like a little shadow, tail wagging and making sure I took regular breaks. It’s not going to be the same in the shed and I’ve looked for him all week😭

Rest easy my Bertie boy you had a good innings but crikey I will miss you 💙🐾 2013-2026 🐾 💙

It’s been a busy making week this week including these wall shelves with little vases. Perfect for a few floral sprigs out of the garden 🪴💕 Watch this space for a little website update over the next few weeks! I’ve also been working on more hangings and little bowls. Anything else you’d like to see?
But in the meantime happy Sunday and I hope the sun is shining wherever you are 🌞
