I am passionate about fabrics, threads and yarns ... and funnily enough my surname means weaver ... so perhaps it is all in my genes! I haven't formally learnt to knit, embroider, crochet and sew ... I just grew up doing a bit of everything because all the women in my family favoured one or more of these activities: so I simply "absorbed" their expertise - or at least some of it, one would hope! But life is not always only about what we like, more often than not it is about what needs doing: so study, work, corporate life-style and other commitments led me down other paths for quite a while, until my beautiful son come into our life. And all changed once again, for the better. I decided to be a stay-home mom, cooking, baking and yes! knitting and sewing once again and now with a new love: patchwork and quilting! As an Italian these are not really part of my heritage but I wanted to learn something new and so I decided to give it a try … and I become addicted to it!! Once started I just could not stop: I just wanted to do more and more. Now I spend my time sewing and teaching patchwork, that is of course when I am not “momming”!! In a few words: I love fabrics! I love their colours, textures, playability and the infinite creativity options that they offer. They have all the colours of the rainbow .... and sky is the limit to what they can be used for. I make quilts, cushions, throws, table covers, table runners, place mats, bibs, bags, embroidered T-shirts, scarfs, book covers and book marks, phone covers and table covers, key-rings and luggage tags, table decorations and coasters, wall-hangings and lavender sachets, tea-towels and bath-towels ... OK! You got the picture ...
