Charlotte Williams wildlife art British fine artist and committed wildlife conservationist, raising money through my art. www.charlotte-williams.com

The world is in crisis and there are so many causes that need funding, but for me, the looming threat of mass extinction and the ever increasing loss of bio diversity is terrifying. the long-term implications out-stripping all other concerns. It is up to ALL of us to play our part in restoring this fractured planet. I have pledged to use the best of me, as an artist, to help wherever possible to fund the boots on the ground. A percentage of every piece of work that I do, whether it be an original work, limited edition print or cards, will be donated to various charities, helping myriad environmenal crises'. There is so much beautiful art out there, by some of the world's most gifted artists, often at a huge discount, that will help raise much needed funds. Please think about making your purchase count and help us fight for our planet's survival. I for one will not be a part of leaving my son, his generation and beyond in a world of despair.

A little look back at Cecil, from the first few pencil marks to the finished drawing...

Many of you will remember Cecil, the magnificent lion whose death at the hands of a trophy hunter in Zimbabwe in 2015 caused such an international outcry.

I drew him as a tribute, and the original was subsequently auctioned to raise funds for the Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit (VFAPU), helping support their work protecting wildlife in Zimbabwe.

I thought I'd share a few photos of him coming together. Looking back, I'd almost forgotten just how many hours went into all that fur! 😆

It's rather lovely that, all these years later, Cecil can still help raise awareness of wildlife conservation.

Prints of Cecil are available on my website, along with the rest of my wildlife collection, currently with 15% off for Christmas.

And this year, 10% of profits from my Christmas print sale will be donated to Wild About Mayfield, a new conservation group here in East Sussex. A little reminder that we can all make a difference by supporting wildlife closer to home, too.

And finished! - 'On His Marks'

Poised on a rocky ledge, his gaze fixed on something beyond our view. Ready, but in no hurry.

On His Marks is part of a developing series of looser wildlife studies where Im slowly learning the freedom of working with more expressive marks and allowing for the unfinished .. letting the viewer's imagination complete the picture.

Fine art prints are now available, with 10% of profits supporting my local conservation group in the hope that everyone will look join up to theirs or support where they can too .. small, connected efforts can collectively make a very meaningful difference 🤗

🎄 A LITTLE WILD THIS CHRISTMAS! 🐘

Looking for something a little different to give this Christmas?

For a limited time, I'm offering 15% off my entire collection of wildlife fine-art prints, with complimentary UK delivery on orders over £150.

From elephants and big cats to some of Africa's most extraordinary wildlife, there's a little something for every wildlife lover.

And this Christmas, I'm delighted to be giving something back to my home area. 🌿

10% of profits from my Christmas print sale will be donated to Wild About Mayfield, a new conservation group in East Sussex, working to better understand and protect local wildlife and habitats.

Conservation doesn't have to begin in far-flung corners of the world. We can all make a difference by looking a little closer to home.

Imagine if every village and community had its own group of people looking after their local wildlife, waterways and habitats. As those groups connect, they could create an ever-growing web of conservation, linking communities and helping nature thrive across the country.

Small, local efforts, collectively making a much bigger difference. 💚

So whether you're treating someone special or finally buying that print you've had your eye on, your purchase will also help support conservation closer to home.

So I know it's been a while... thank you so much to all those who've been asking what's happening! 💖

In brief, I've had to take a step back from my detailed work and have been exploring new, easier ways to do what I love.

I'm getting there and slowly building on a new series of work, which is still a long way off being ready to show. But in the meantime, I'm keeping my hand in with these looser charcoal sketches, which I'm really enjoying! 🤗

I'm hoping to make some prints available to get a few £s back in the coffers, so do keep your eyes peeled if that might be of interest! 💖

As ever 10% of profit will go to wildlife conservation

The inspiration behind Thunder and Dust ..

The African wilderness has a way of leaving its mark on you. It is a place of breath taking beauty, stillness, and sudden unpredictability, where everything can change in an instant. Some moments pass quickly and fade with time, but others stay with you forever. The inspiration behind my new work, T...

Its taken a while, but 'Thunder and Dust' is finally framed!

It was a huge task as I did not consider, while drawing it, the difficulties it would create for my long suffering framer Neal Scrase

At 120cm², neither mount board sheets, nor acid free board are made big enough to accommodate such a size! But after much research, many phone calls and some jiggery-pokery he has managed to pull off, what most framers would have turned away! So I am eternally grateful!

If you are interested in acquiring this piece please do feel free to message me for more information, and as ever 10% of the proceeds will be going to wildlife conservation.
