Before Seaside Chic Creations was created I had a well paid self employed business in a totally different field. However with this came a lot of sacrifices, it meant me spending all week away from Cornwall and a lot of traveling. The hardest part was spending all that time away from my children, they both needed their dad as much as I needed them. Something had to change. The decision was made to sell the business. Still needing some form of income the thinking cap went on. I definitely consider myself to be an outdoors kind of person, a creative kind of person, an environmentally conscious kind of person and a passionate kind of person with a deep love of Cornwall and everything in it specifically the amazing coastline, which in my personal opinion is matched nowhere else on earth. I needed something I was good at but also enjoyed too. So I thought why not combine all of the above, and thus seaside chic creations was born. Since then I haven't looked back, life is so different now. I get to see my children before they go to bed and when they wake up. I get to drop them of at school in the morning and collect them in the afternoon. I knew, before, that I missed out on a lot of stuff working away all the time, but honestly did not realise how much until now! Seriously the children's school is pretty amazing there's always something going on that I can get involved in with the children such as trips to the beach or the woods, and end of term outcome days. whereas before I couldn't of. even if I had known about it, and missed out on it all, it makes me sad when I think about it. Things are different now though, days are spent either in the studio working on some cool new creation or combing the beaches and coastline for new materials to use and driftwood. I find some pretty cool stuff! Usually always joined by my lil sidekick Shirley girly the bulldog. She's my best friend and loves going to the beach with me to see what we can find, although if she finds it first it generally becomes hers and I don't get a look in!!

MY PIECES

I would describe every single one of my pieces as a wonderful all year round piece of Cornish seaside chic from Seaside Chic Creations to make your family Home all that bit more special, or as equally, that extra special gift for someone. Each piece has been carefully prepared and beautifully hand finished to a high standard with 100% reclaimed materials. Any one of my pieces are definitely the perfect addition to any coastal themed home or holiday cottage. As each piece is made with a lot of love, passion for what I do and from reclaimed materials, no one material is the same as the last. So with that you can say that anything you purchase is definitely a one of unique original piece enabling you full bragging rights that you have the only one like it in the whole world. I do try hard to take the best pictures I can to show of any features and the piece to its best potential and also include the measurements in those pictures so you can fully appreciate its authenticity and charm. Each piece is handmade by myself and will be in very good condition with no damage. I like to leave any imperfections in the materials I use as they are because I feel they are part of the beauty of that material, the years it has spent travelling our worlds oceans being battered and tossed around by the waves. None of my pieces will have the uniformed look of a mass produced/manufactured piece, as to be expected with one of handmade and custom pieces. I hope you will take your time to study the pictures as I like to consider them as an important part of the description. CUSTOM ORDERS

I love taking on custom orders. I get such a great feeling finishing a piece knowing that it has been made exactly as you wanted it to be. Contact me on Etsy or any of my socials to discuss and lets create something special together. If you've seen something in my sold pieces (check out my page where there is an album full with a lot of my sold pieces) that you quite like for yourself or if you have your own ideas of what you want just get in touch.

GIFT WRAPPING AND PERSONALISATION

I can personalise or/and gift wrap your piece for you, and I will not charge extra for this. I only ask if you can contact me via Etsy messages before purchase to let me know what you would like ie names/male/female/adult/child etc. If I don't hear from you before purchase I will send your piece as is, in plain packaging so as not to spoil any surprise or delay delivery and comply with the estimated delivery times given by Etsy. If your personalisation requires significant alterations or extra materials there would of course be a minimal charge just to cover the extra cost to myself. All Items marked as a gift, unless informed otherwise are sent in plain packaging.

COLLECTION

I am based in south Cornwall and welcome Collection, especially if your down on holiday and want to take home that special piece to remember your happy holiday memories with family. I can also offer discounts of the listed price if you want to collect in person. I love meeting my customers and would love it if all of you could collect in person.

DELIVERY

With using reclaimed materials being one of the things at the heart of what I do, I do whatever I can to reduce my carbon footprint on the world. With this in mind wherever possible I will reuse packaging as much as I can but still make sure your new piece or gift is fully protected. Unless your piece is a custom order, everything single piece I have listed is made and ready to send out to you. So there is no waiting for your order to be made and If you purchase before 1PM I will be able to send it to you the same day. For next day delivery upgrades the cut of time is 9AM. If you require personalisation or gift wrapping this will increase the time it takes to get your piece ready to send out to you. I include free delivery on all of my smaller and medium sized pieces. This is a fully tracked, signed and insured service. This takes between 3-5 working days, usually 3. They will try to deliver three times before returning to myself, meaning there is less chance of you missing your delivery and if you do no worries they will try again :-). Please include a mobile number with your order number and I can pass it to the courier who will update you directly. Although I will also add the tracking to details to Etsy and track the delivery myself also. If the intended delivery day or time is not convenient for you please let me know and I will rearrange it for you or let the courier know your safe place. For larger items I do not cover the cost of delivery. I have to add a cost to the Etsy listing so this is listed at £75. However it could well be more or less than that amount with factors such as where you are in the country etc. Please contact me if you would like me to obtain a quote for the cost of delivery as I will be more than happy to do this for you. Just send your postcode prior to purchase for an exact quote and I will also be able to give you a better idea of how long after the piece has been dispatched it will take to arrive. This service will be insured but the agreement will be between the provider and yourself so I'm afraid I cant accept any liability for damage in transit.

PAYMENTS

On Etsy I have to accept payment through 'Etsy payments' enabling you to pay with most major credit and debit cards along with PayPal. I also accept Etsy giftcards. If purchasing via my social channels I accept bank transfer, Pingit, Apple pay and of course cash on collection. I do not accept PayPal.
