This is drilling — one of the “invisible” steps in making a piece of glass art. Glass doesn’t like being drilled fast: too much heat or pressure and it shatters. So it’s slow, steady, water-cooled work, one hole at a time. It’s easy to see a finished piece and not think about all the small, careful steps that got it there. This is one of them!

New piece! ‘Layers of Dusk’. Pink and purple glass costs 3-4 times that of other colours due to the use of gold and other rare elements in manufacturing! So every bit of glass is turned into something beautiful!
