As we head into the bank holiday weekend and celebrating that extra day of freedom I thought I would share our latest May window in the glorious sunshine.

Spring florals in the gorgeous William Morris wallpaper and a touch of vibrant colour from the Geum and our fun hanging carrots.

We are well known now for our great collection of mugs. You can never have too many. As well as beautiful cushions and lampshades.

‘May, more than any other month of the year, wants us to feel alive’ quote from Fennel Hudson.

Whatever you choose to do this weekend I hope it is perfect. Penny x

A new home takes time to evolve. It’s the start of a new chapter in a clients life. Often we are working alongside other trades creating the bones of a house and turning it into a home. To add character and personality through the soft furnishings then the furniture, ready for the client to move in.
It’s good to look back to the start of a project. The chaos that gradually turns to calm as rooms are completed.
We started working with the clients a few months ago and gradually we are working through each room with the curtains and blinds. I’m excited to see the everything completed, but I also enjoy the process very much.

Cosy living rooms complete with bespoke curtains and roman blinds. I love this combination of teal and chocolate brown. The wave heading on the curtains is perfect when space is tight either side of a fireplace too, as it requires less of a stack area.

I have been working with this client for a while now on many of the rooms of their lovely home. It is always great to see how rooms are transformed with curtains and blinds.

From a project we completed a few weeks ago.

April always brings new collections of gorgeous fabrics. This year there is even more colour from so many of the brands.
And if the more neutral palette is for you then there are lots of new textures plains too.

The challenge is deciding which is for you? And if you need guidance along the way pop into the showroom and have a browse through these great collections.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a garden update. When I’m not working you’ll find me here mostly.
We’ve added some new raised beds to the garden. And I’m thrilled with them. Over the last few months I have been busy sowing ready for this moment. All veg and flowers for cutting as we have every year since I can remember, but I wanted to grow more salads and root veg this year. As this area is reasonably near to the house I wanted it to look good too. The raised beds were easy to build and I love the curves!
I laid a w**d barrier then some cardboard, followed by our own home grown compost, then it actually took 6 bags of bought compost and one bag of rotted manure to fill one. So the other will wait until my next garden centre visit. I’ve planted spinach, salad leaves, red cabbage, chard and a couple of calendula in the filled bed and covered them to give a little weather protection and keep the pigeons and chickens off.

Love to know what you think. I’ll share all the info in my highlighted stories if you want to know more.

Ending the week with a question for you-
Which do you prefer? Image 1 or 2?
I am putting together a room scheme and have included our new rugs that are now available to order.
And I’ve changed the wallpaper too. I love the pink and caramel combination.

I’d love to know what you think.

All fabrics, wallpapers and rugs samples are available to see in the showroom.

Large bay windows in old houses are sometimes a challenge. So to help smooth everything out a pelmet is a good option. It can be shaped around beams too.
Here we used Lily flower embroidery fabric in Nettle from the Morris at home collection by Ashley Wilde for the bespoke curtains. And matched a plain fabric from Romo for the pelmet.

There is so much Spring in the air at the moment. Some gorgeous sunshine, the days are getting longer and the mud is gradually disappearing!

I certainly feel very grateful for the safety of my home as we get closer to celebrating Easter and all of the possibilities that this season brings. So we chose to keep an abundance of pretty colours for our new window display. Some gorgeous fabrics, beautiful wallpaper and plenty of homewares.

There are some new fabric and wallpaper collections too from many of the suppliers that will be available to browse through very soon. It has been a really busy start to the year, with many new client projects as well as revisiting clients from last year.
