Another in whatever series this may be becoming. I’ve realised I enjoy having many strings to my bow, sometimes I want to paint, sometimes I want to sculpt, sometimes it’s photography that captures my attention- following those impulses are key to my creativity. My intuition tells me and my body guides me- what will be will be.

Some actual attempts at light painting after messing around with camera settings- I sometimes forget how much I love experimental photography- before I ever picked up brushes or even considered art being part of my life, I always took photos, usually ones that ended up badly developed when they were returned from the printers (yes I am that old!) or Polaroids that would fade in sunlight, there’s something about capturing light (and in effect shadow) unpredictably that has always fascinated me.

After 7 hours of reading and writing today I allowed myself half an hour to just mark make in whatever materials were laying around- acrylic, oil and soft pastels, charcoal and a little water soluble oils- will I go back to this piece and probably abstract it further? Quite possibly but for now I’m calling it a productive day!
