In the kitchen at our Wolfwater project we were blessed with great bones so opted to update it with new flooring, paintwork, brassware, stone, pendants, upholstery and window dressing. Almost a new kitchen!
The result, in my opinion, is a quietly luxurious warm and generous kitchen. The hub of the home, connected and harmonious whilst maintaining elegance and charm.
We had to work around this existing shelving cabinet above the sink so opted to scoop up the upstairs to meet it in an elegant curve. Just enough to give it a gentle cuddle and make it feel more connected and harmonious.
Bullnose niches on either side of the Aga are joyfully practical and beautiful. We paired this with an ogee edge on the countertops to keep things gently linked while playful.
I love this colour combination. The rich conker red on the island, muted and determined at the same time, matched with the deliciously warm neutral on the perimeter cabinetry, I feel, works so well with the stunning honed Taj Mahal quartzite countertops, rubbed brass hardware and french limestone floors.
We have around 6 different hardware specifications in this space. Different sizes and styles all specifically chosen to pair with a corresponding cabinets door size. This is in contrast to the previous iteration of the hardware schedule that had less variety, which I feel isn't as interesting or considered.
As a rule we like to have a pull that is around 60% the size of the drawer front. K***s on cupboard doors that don't require much force, and proper appliance pulls on tall/big doors.
