Garapa garden room and landscaping project undertaken by . Huge transformation to this garden with lots of chalk excavation, which apparently is the same soil make up as the Champagne region in France. Great for wine, horrible for a garden.

I’d like to do more Shou Sugi Ban ‘burnt cedar board’ at first I thought it was criminal to char such a beautiful timber but later realised it enhances the grain and character in a different way and would definitely recommend it. charring the wood also makes it resistant to fire, rot, insects and UV effects from the sun. It was first used by the Japanese in the 18th century for cladding buildings. 🇯🇵
