Today I topped up the new planters on the village green with fresh compost and lots of beautiful plants, all chosen with bees in mind 🐝
I’ve planted verbena and salvia for height, along with sweet William and lavender, plus some wonderfully fragrant stocks. I couldn’t resist adding a few craspedia for a fun pop of colour too. Around the edges I’ve included plenty of trailing plants to soften everything and spill over, fuchsia, nepeta, lobelia, petunias, ivy and trailing geraniums.
While I was planting a little bee popped out of a fuchsia which felt like a very good sign that the flowers are already doing their job!
I can’t wait to see how it all grows and fills out over the next few weeks no doubt I’ll be adding a few bits here and there!
