I must admit, this was a first for me. The first time I found myself in tears while creating a mug. 💛

After sharing our Corgi designs, so many of you messaged to say that they looked just like your own dogs. Some of those beloved pups have already crossed the rainbow bridge, and you told me how special it would be to have a keepsake to remember them by.

So here it is: a very happy pup running across the rainbow bridge, full of excitement for their next adventure. 🌈🐾

I once read that getting a dog is like buying a ticket to one of the worst days of your life. Losing your best four-legged friend is unbearably painful, and the silence they leave behind can feel enormous.

But in exchange for that one excruciating day, we are given thousands of joyful ones. Days filled with muddy pawprints, wagging tails, silly little habits, unconditional love and the kind of companionship that changes us forever.

That is how we must remember them — not for the day they left, but for every beautiful day they gave us. 💛

Although this is a one-off mug, the design will become one of the templates available for commissions, which are coming in 2027. It may feel like a long wait, but I promise it will be worth it — especially when your own beloved pup can be immortalised on a handmade piece created just for you. 🐾

Another corgious reveal for you! 🐾✨

Another kiln has cooled, bringing us a new batch of mischievous little loaves having the most incredible adventures! A happy pack of Corgis playing, exploring, visiting and relaxing in beautiful destinations. 🍄🌊🌿

📍All of these pieces will be coming with us to Corgi Fest UK on Sunday 6th September in Dunham-on-Trent!

🗓️ Tuesday 8th September at 6pm (UK time)
all the Corgi pieces that haven’t found their forever homes at the festival will be uploaded to our website (link in bio).

Another batch of Corgi Mugs has emerged from the kiln—and we couldn’t be more pleased! 🌈🐾

Vibrant colours, happy dogs and plenty of classic Corgi chaos…

We have an agility demon, a beach-loving Corgi peacefully floating in paradise, one racing up a hill, a sunset admirer and—perhaps the most realistic of them all—a professional cushion sleeper. 😂 😴

Which one is your favourite? And can you spot your own pup’s personality among them?

The next few days will be a whirlwind of throwing, painting and glazing even more mugs for you. There are only two weeks left until Corgi Fest UK—excited panic mode has officially begun! 🐶🐾 🫣

💔 A heartbreaking update

for our European customers…

After a great deal of thought, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to stop shipping to EU countries for the time being.

We spent countless hours researching postage prices, customs rules and requirements for every country—trying to make the process as simple and affordable as possible for our customers.

When GPSR regulations were introduced, we found and paid for an EU representative.

We completed the paperwork, updated our product information and did everything we could to continue sending our pottery safely and legally to Europe. Every change brought more costs, more research and more paperwork, we kept trying.

New packaging regulations require separate registration in individual countries.

Each country has its own rules, website, reporting system and fees. Some may also require a local representative.

There is no simple, affordable system for tiny businesses.

The cost could be around €20–€150 PER COUNTRY, every year—even if we send just one parcel there.

This is where we have finally had to draw the line.

Large corporations, manufacturers and wholesalers have dedicated teams to deal with regulations like these.

We are two small artists. We make the pottery, photograph it, pack every order, answer every message—and do all the research and paperwork ourselves.

We simply cannot justify the enormous cost and workload of registering separately across Europe. It is no longer affordable or manageable for us.

This decision has left us deeply disheartened.

Some of you have supported our little pottery business from across Europe for years. Knowing that we can no longer send our work to you is genuinely heartbreaking.

We truly hope that a fair, clear and affordable system will eventually be created for artists and small businesses using only tiny amounts of packaging.
Until then, we sadly have no choice but to pause shipping to EU countries.
We hope this is not goodbye forever.

For any future European enquiries, please do still get in touch.
We may be able to assess your order individually.

The Stamps are back!!!
We had a little break in stamping our pots, a few batches had smooth bums 😅🫣. When we used to hand build we had a rubber stamp that worked perfectly on a flat slab that was later assembled into a cylinder and shaped into a pot.

But since we got a wheel in January, we struggled to stamp thrown pots due to the rubber stamp being too soft to handle leather hard clay.

So we looked for a solution and found an amazing alternative to rubber, which is a recycled green acrylic stamp from getstamped.co.uk and guess what's the handle made out of?! Sustainable OAK! Quercus could not resist!

Perfect size, so neat and eco friendly too! Thank you! 😊

I need your best Corgi photos! 🤩 And tag your friends too share theirs too 😊

I’m currently sketching ideas for more Corgi mugs for Corgi Fest UK , and this time I want to try something a little different… I need your dogs to provide the inspiration!

Show me your Corgis in their natural habitat — and by natural habitat, I mean doing whatever ridiculous thing they consider completely normal...

🎾 Ball permanently attached to mouth?
🛋️ Upside down on the sofa?
🥕 Weirdly obsessed with a particular snack?
🌊 Charging into the sea?
🪵 Carrying a stick three times their own size?
😴 Sleeping in a position that surely requires a chiropractor?
👀 Or simply performing their daily neighbourhood surveillance?

Share your favourite action shot in the comments and tell me a little bit about what’s happening. Maybe your everyday Corgi moment could find its way onto a Quercus Pottery mug! 🥹

Funny, chaotic, adventurous or completely ordinary — I’d love to see the little things that make your dog YOUR dog.

I can’t promise I’ll be able to turn every photo into a design (I suspect I may regret opening these floodgates 😂), but I’m looking for fresh ideas and would absolutely love to bring a few of your real-life moments to clay.

And if you don’t have a Corgi — please still show me your dog! 🐶❤️ This batch happens to be for Corgi Fest, but other breeds will have their turn.

As we’ve mentioned before, Quercus Pottery is our little after-hours project. We both work full-time in hospitality, squeezing clay, carving and glazing into our evenings and days off. 🤎

Recently, we had the pleasure of completing a very special project for The Stones Café. Our handmade pottery can now be found on the café tables, created to complement its beautiful colours and Birds of Paradise theme. Seeing our pieces being used and enjoyed in such a lovely setting feels incredibly special!

Kris usually prefers to stay behind the scenes and isn’t too keen on showing his face, but Quercus Pottery simply wouldn’t be possible without him. He is the hands behind shaping many of our lovely pots — and he also happens to be a very talented baker and pastry chef. 🍰

So, if you fancy trying some delicious creations, admiring our handmade pottery and enjoying a walk around the beautiful Wainstones, make sure to visit The Stones Café & Wainstones Hotel

A little piece of both of our worlds, brought together in one very special place. 🌿☕️
