Really excited to share that Mark Harriott from SWAY in Whitley Bay is leading a beginners Macrame course in Whitley Bay at the Justine Holdsworth Studio North East on Whitley Road, on Thursday 4th June from 6-8:30pm. This friendly in-person workshop is perfect for beginners wanting to dive into the world of macrame.

The workshop will be a cosy, creative evening as an introduction to the art of knotting to create a colourful yarn hanging basket of your own design. Exterior or interior, multiple colours, double or single hanging baskets can be made, you decide! All materials will be provided and the 100% recycled cotton yarn is included in the price.

Mark Harriott ( BGFD-British Guild of Film Designers instructor) is a Cullercoats-based film, Ad & TV designer, so we are very happy to announce he will be at our Cullercoats Festival Craft Fair in St. George's Church Cullercoats Church Hall.

To make a reservation, please book via:

Join us in person to learn the basics of macrame and create your own choice of hanging basket!

As part of the Steering Committee we are actively promoting the Cullercoats Festival on Sat 13th June - it’s a month away so hopefully these videos will show you a little bit of who’s involved and what is happening where and when… lovely to have our very own Elizabeth Dutschak talking about the festival.

The Cullercoats Festival will be showcasing a whole selection of different dancing, I'm not sure I dare Irish Dancing as my ankles aren't the strongest, but maybe one of the others?

Date for your diary: Saturday 13th June, we'll be at our Market situated in the St. George's Church Cullercoats Hall, which is just opposite the church [the really big iconic chuch on the seafront] and next door to the Cullercoats Lawn Tennis Club. There will be cake on offer too, provided by the lovely ladies at the Cullercoats Watch House. We can't wait!

We too are counting down the days to the Festival!! Our stallholders will be in St. George's Church Cullercoats Hall, which is just infront of the Cullercoats Lawn Tennis Club if you know that, or next to the big Church on the seafront! Delighted also that the Cullercoats Watch House team will be providing handmade cakes and treats so you can come and look at our stalls and have a slice of cake at the same time!

Date: Saturday 13th June!

Looking out over the beautiful sight of Cullercoats Bay on a glorious sunny day. Counting down the days now till Cullercoats Festival 2026 on the 13th June!

We’ll keep you posted in the coming weeks with the programme events and what you’ll be able to enjoy at this FREE festival celebration in Cullercoats.
