🎨 TINY ART COMPETITION — YOU CHOOSE THE WINNERS! 💗

Think big, create small! We’re inviting you to get creative with our Tiny Art Competition, raising money for Willingham School Association.

✨ Open to everyone aged 3+
🎨 Four age categories: 3–6, 7–11, 12–17 and 18+
🖌️ Create an original artwork on Post-it Note-sized paper (87 × 87mm). Any colours and mediums welcome!
💷 Just £1 per entry, payable when you hand in your artwork
🏆 A Creative Grounds Café voucher for each category winner
🗳️ We’ll display the entries in the café and let the public vote for their favourites!

📍 Bring your entry in person to Creative Grounds Café, 36 Church Street, Willingham, by Friday 4 December.

❤️ All proceeds go to Willingham School Association.

You don’t have to be an artist — just have a go! And even if you don’t enter, pop in to see the tiny masterpieces and cast your vote!

✨ Something a little bit different… ✨

Have you heard of Kinusaiga? 🇯🇵

Also known as Japanese fabric mosaic, Kinusaiga is a beautiful textile art where pieces of fabric are carefully fitted together to create detailed pictures and patterns — without sewing.

We have a lovely selection of these original handmade pieces in the café at the moment. Each one is completely individual, with gorgeous fabrics and colours. 🧵✨

They would make a beautiful and unusual gift for someone who loves art, craft or something a little different for their home.

And there are plenty of other lovely things to discover in our little shop too — handmade gifts, jewellery, homeware, crafts and more.

Looking for somewhere to go with your pre-schooler during the week?

At Creative Grounds Café, our weekdays are often much quieter than weekends — making it a lovely time to pop in, grab a coffee and let the little ones get creative.

Monday–Friday | 9am–2.30pm

🎨 Crafts from just £1.50
We have a range of crafts suitable for children from around 3 years old. Just pop in, have a look and choose something they’d like to make. No booking needed.

📚 Books & games
We have a selection of quality books and games for little ones to enjoy too.

👶 Little-one friendly
High chairs and baby-change facilities are available.

☕ A chance for you to sit down too!
Enjoy a proper coffee and perhaps a slice of cake while your child is happily occupied.

🚗 Easy parking nearby
There’s plenty of parking close to the café.

And on Friday mornings, we’re lucky to have Essie, a qualified Montessori teacher, running her Art Club for pre-school children.

A goodbye to our dear friend Dick ❤️

We will be closing the café today ( Wednesday 30th September) so that we can say goodbye and celebrate the life of our dear friend and loyal customer, Dick Lingham.

We first met Dick when we were setting up the café. He trundled along on his scooter and dutifully posed for photographs, helping us demonstrate to the council the width of the pavement! From that moment on, Dick became one of our most ardent supporters and loyal customers.

We proudly display his art in the café, and our very first Christmas nativity window was inspired by his work.

There are so many things we will miss about Dick: his positivity, his zest for life, his inquisitiveness, his smile and his wonderful sense of humour. But perhaps what we admired most was his ability to see the joy in the small things, to appreciate the beauty in the world around him, and to see the good in the people he met.

It has been an absolute honour to know him, and we feel very lucky that his path crossed ours.

We will miss you, Dick. ❤️
And we will always remember you.

So not only can you buy our handmade collage mini pictures and bookmarks, you can also have a go at making your own while you’re at the café!

For just £5, choose whether you’d like to create a little collage picture or your very own bookmark. We have a lovely selection of modern and vintage magazines to rummage through, along with a beautiful variety of cards and papers to choose from 💕
