Just finished another Masterclass course with the lovely Caitriona from Galway.

A regular visitor and this time she made a 3 part mould using vertical plaster profile bats to achieve completely flat tight seams. Great result!

Introducing LUMA CUBE. Bone China reimagined.

Having finished my residency at , I am now ready to share what I’ve been working on!

This is a new body of work combining slipcasting and hand building to create modular light objects. These can be available as grids, clusters or randomly placed. They are available in a variety of colours.

The Luma Cube has been designed to sit comfortably in either a home environment or a commercial setting. They are designed for the spaces between architecture and atmosphere.

Here are some imagined rooms with the Luma Cube, however working alongside architects and interior designers, we can bring this work to life.

I am very pleased to finally show some of my working progress and results of my 5 month residency .

This period of research allowed me time to reflect on a new approach to working with Bone China. The aim had been to capitalise on the translucent quality with emphasis on illumination in the architectural lighting domain.

I am indebted to the support of the technical staff .ceramics and Tim Wright who all helped make this project possible. And thank you to Bath Spa University for this opportunity!

Delighted to have delivered work to for Secret Ceramics.

and have created something rather special with this third edition. 100 pieces, anonymously presented, each one made by a ceramicist who has given their work freely in support of FiredUp4 Clay Clubs. This cause enables young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to discover what clay can do.

At £650 per piece, it’s an invitation to trust your instincts. No names, just the work itself, and the chance to take something home before the artist is revealed.

Reflecting on two more fantastic courses of mouldmaking in the studio!

We took a deep dive into the technical side of production, focusing on two processes:

Handle Blocking & Casing: The essential workflow for scaling your work and creating reliable, long-lasting multiple moulds.

Profile Bats: Mastering the art of beating seam lines to achieve that crisp, professional finish that makes all the difference in slipcasting.

There are just 6 individual spaces left on my Spring-Summer Masterclasses 2026. Click the link in my bio for all the details.

Over the course of 2 days, you’ll be guided through plaster weighing and mixing, lathe turning for model making and drop-out mould making using reservoir rings. There’s space to explore casting experiments and water-erosion decoration using Bone China.
