As a studio, we often only show little glimpses of all the work that is going on in the background, but we’re excited to share more about our projects moving forward with our Curate | Build | Home series.

You will never squeeze all the work that goes into bringing a concept to life in a short reel, but we will be sharing more of the journey with you.

The first in the series is project | te residence - a modern eclectic remodel of an Edwardian family home with contemporary colour confidence and a sense of fun.

C U R A T E is where this identity is born. Long before the construction begins, it’s about balancing a sense of architectural calm with moments of unexpected, graphic joy. For this home, we paired the warmth of natural oak and fluted surfaces with the playful, earthy tones of bold concrete basins and striking geometric patterns. It’s a palette designed to feel grounded, yet entirely alive.

Build is where the true collaboration happens. To sensitively transform this 1909 Edwardian home, it took an incredible team of craftspeople, trades and designers working hand-in-hand. Working alongside the teams at architects and , every single architectural junction was discussed and every site challenge was met with shared creative thinking.

Throughout this phase, we also looked closely at the relationship between the interior and the landscape. We wanted to ensure a thoughtful, seamless connection to the outdoors, which you can see taking shape here through the rhythm of the structural beamed ceiling and the precise framing of our custom green steel doors, acting as a visual bridge to the gardens.

From the considered layout of the Trunk oak flooring to the detailed tiling; this stage is a testament to the hands that built it.

A beautiful space is nothing without the precision of the people who execute it. Drop a 🤍 to celebrate the incredible trades and makers who bring design to life.

project | te residence

Welcome to the completed te residence.
Our design approach was centred around a “warm minimalism”, balancing a calm, functional sanctuary with moments of spirited colour and eclectic detail.

Every corner tells a story of confident choices: from the textured rhythm of the Trunk oak flooring underfoot to the custom green steel doors acting as a visual bridge to the gardens. The light-filled extension is anchored by a sky-blue kitchen island that serves as the heart of family life, while bespoke details like the fluted concrete fireplace and a custom coffee table add visual interest to the living zones.

It’s a home that respects its heritage while embracing a true sense of fun. Everything comes together. At Last.

A massive thank you to our wonderful clients whose confidence in us allowed us to push the boundaries on this beautiful project. Explore the full project gallery via the link in our bio.

The kitchen table | An important space for conversations, meals, crafting and laughing. The natural light from the existing roof lights flood the table area. We added oak beams to discreetly run cables through to allow for pendants to hang over the table and a place for seasonal decorations like dried flower garlands.
The soft palette creates a warm and calming space for the chaos of everyday life.

I want to take a moment to introduce myself to my new followers. I am Rachele Bowley, founder and director of Last.

My design journey began as a shoe designer, designing for global luxury fashion brands. I loved my time in fashion & product design and gained so much design experience that I apply to Interior Design.
Building design vision and direction for global brands to use across all products has strengthened my Concept Direction and enables me to create and direct the style which is right for any home. Applying colour, materials and technical design details are the core skills but having the vision to be inspired by anything creates designs which are uniquely considered for a home and not just to follow a trend.
I really care about how a space feels and all of our conversations start with 'how do you want to feel in the space'.

'Last' is a nod to the start of my career in footwear and to the importance of timeless design.

I transitioned to Interior Design over a decade ago. It had always been a passion of mine from an early age. I've not looked back since.
I lived and breathed interiors as a child, as my mum ran her own soft furnishing business - she creates many of the beautiful soft furnishings that you can find in our shop.

To now run a thriving design business, built on my passion, is something I feel incredibly grateful for every day.

Over the past 11 years, we've been lucky enough to work on some truly inspiring residential interior projects across the UK and Europe.
Behind the refined and curated images you see on my feed are many hours of design work, client & supplier communications, problem-solving and lots of fun!

Thank you for being here and for allowing me to share my passion for thoughtful design with you. I’m so glad you’ve found us.

At Last.

At our work has always been a love letter to the natural world. Sir David Attenborough’s legacy isn’t just something we admire; it’s a standard we strive to meet in every project we can.

We believe that beautiful design shouldn't come at the cost of the planet. Currently, at our Grade II heritage project, we are letting that philosophy lead every single choice thanks to our client's shared drive to protect the planet. From the pigment in the natural paints to the origin of our sustainable flooring, we are constantly asking: “Is this the cleanest, most responsible option for this home and our future?”

We are considering every detail to ensure we leave a lighter footprint while creating spaces that last.

Happy Birthday, Sir David. Thank you for the inspiration.

With an ever changing landscape as the view from this kitchen window, we kept the cabinetry in a cool and calm shade to allow the visual of the garden to act as the artwork to the space.
The slim shaker design to the doors echoed the language of the architecture; slim profiles and minimalist design details.
Wall lights were made with bespoke back plates to sit flush against the wall and continue this design language.
Every detail considered.

Inspired by the exterior materials for the rear extension to this Edwardian home; we used fluted concrete for the fire surround as a contrast to the traditional features in the room.
Carefully crafted by hand, the perfectly imperfect nature of the concrete added a tactile quality to the pared-back design.
The blackened steel firebox adds drama against the soft concrete hue to create a strong focal point to the room. Using a bio-ethanol fireplace was a conscious decision for an
eco-friendly solution, that still offers the feeling of a flickering cosy flame.
