Myth: "We'll wait until spring to do the windows."

We understand the instinct. Nobody wants the house open in October. But the actual disruption is a few hours per opening, and our team seal as they go. You are not living with a hole in the wall for a fortnight.

Meanwhile, waiting until spring means paying to heat a leaky house through the entire winter first, which is the expensive half of the decision. There's a practical point too. Autumn is when lead times are still sensible. By February, everyone who spent January being cold is booking at once, and the wait gets longer for everyone. The other advantage of doing it now: you find out immediately whether it worked. Fit windows in May and you won't know until November.

Of everything that's been written about us, that's the line we were most pleased to read because it's the hardest thing to prove in this trade and the easiest thing to claim.
It comes from a five-star Trustpilot review left in February. The rest of it describes something we hear more often than you'd expect: they'd had other trades out to look at draughty windows and doors, and nobody had actually explained the cause. So we explained it. Then we fixed it.

They described the team as patient and conscientious, which we will happily take. Trustpilot labels that review as unprompted, which means we didn't ask for it. We generally don't. The full review is on Trustpilot, and there are more on Yell, where we're currently rated 5.0 from nine reviews.

We look at the whole picture: the frames, the opening, the wall around it, and whether the thing you've asked about is genuinely the thing that needs doing. "Can you do that?" is the question we get most.
The answer is usually yes.

Bespoke is where a family-run outfit has an advantage, honestly. There's no head office to ask. Dylan has been in construction for over 25 years, so when someone describes an awkward opening, a non-standard shape or something that has to match a building that stopped being built to standard sizes a century ago, it gets solved on site rather than sent away.
Measured, made and fitted by the same people throughout. That continuity is the whole thing, nobody hands your project over halfway.

Today is the autumn equinox. From here until late December, every day is shorter than the one before it.

Which is the moment glazing stops being about keeping heat in and starts being about letting light in.
It's the reason we so often steer people towards slimmer sightlines in aluminium, or larger single panes rather than divided ones, or a door with more glass than they'd first considered. On a bright July afternoon it makes very little difference. In the last week of November it makes all of it.
Worth thinking about now, while you can still remember what the room feels like in summer.

We put "ASSURE approved" on everything, so it's only fair to explain what it means.

ASSURE is a government-authorised competent person scheme for window and door installation. Being registered means our installations are certified as meeting Building Regulations. Assessed, not asserted.

In practice, that matters at two moments. The first is the day it's fitted, when someone has actually verified the standard we work to. The second is years later, when you sell the house and the solicitor asks for certification on the glazing. That is a much better conversation to have if the paperwork exists.
It's also why we don't quote against installers who can't produce it. The price difference is usually explained by exactly that.
Family-run. Over 25 years in construction, over 35 in double glazing installation. Not tied to any one manufacturer.

This was a patio nobody sat on.

Not because there was anything wrong with it. It was simply too exposed. Too hot by two in the afternoon, unusable the moment it rained, and so it became the place the bins lived.
Now it's the room the family use most in the evening.

Yes, and it's worth explaining how because "waterproof pergola" gets used loosely.
The NUUN ECO slats are chamber-type aluminium blades that sit inside the frame rather than on top of it. Each one carries a gasket, so when they close flat they meet as a sealed surface, not a set of overlapping panels with gaps between them.

The water then has to go somewhere. It runs into a drainage system integrated into the posts and away at ground level. No visible downpipes and no puddle at the corner of the patio. Open the slats again and you're back to open sky and natural air circulation. Same structure, entirely different room.

Options include heat radiators, zip screens, linear lighting and a sliding glass system if you want it enclosed.
