WELL… THAT WENT WELL! 💚

Rise + Grind — you were fabulous!

What a lovely morning we’ve had.

There were ladies we’ve met before, lots of new faces, and one lovely lady who unfortunately couldn’t join us at the last minute and was very much missed from our group today. ❤️

One of the things that matters most to us about Worcester Crafty Club is that everyone is welcome.

Beginner or experienced. Any age, any gender. Come with a group, come with a friend or simply come on your own.

There are no exclusions at Crafty Club.

Our priority has always been that you enjoy the time you spend with us. And we love watching what happens around those tables — people chatting, encouraging each other, sharing ideas and making sure everyone feels part of it.

Today, friends AND some fabulous mosaics were made! 🙏🏼

They might not look quite finished yet, but give them their recommended 24-hour curing time, get them grouted at home and they are going to be MAGICAL! ✨

And fear not, ladies… you’ll all be receiving our grouting demonstration video, which frankly is worthy of an Oscar. 🤣🏆

A HUGE thank you to our fabulous Crafty Helper Helena. Having an extra pair of hands made everything run so much more smoothly — and somehow, when everyone left, the room didn’t resemble the aftermath of a small craft-related car crash. 😂 It was actually organised and tidy! 🥰

Thank you too to Liv, who kept everyone hydrated throughout the morning, and to Josh and all the kitchen boys and girls for looking after us so brilliantly.

And finally, thank you to every single one of our Crafty Clubbers who came along today.

You are what makes these workshops what they are. 💚

We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

IT’S BEEN ONE OF THOSE WEEKS… 💚

Sometimes life is tough, work is hard and the stars just don’t seem to be quite in line.

It’s been a bit like that for both Angie and me this week.

On top of everything else, poor Angie has been having a bit of a battle with UK dental services. At one point I feared I might have to add tooth extractions to my repertoire, with the assistance of a YouTube video. 🦷😂

Thankfully, it didn’t come to that! All is sorted and we are READY to get crafty!!

This afternoon we’ve been setting up at Rise + Grind, all ready to welcome 16 lovely Crafty Clubbers tomorrow morning and I’m sure you’ll agree it’s looking fabulous!

And we honestly can’t wait. 💚

Will we make mosaics?
Absolutely.

Will we drink tea, coffee and chat?
Of course.

Will we have fun?
You bet we will! 😂

Sometimes a few hours spent creating something, chatting to lovely people and forgetting about everything else for a while is exactly what you need.

That’s what Crafty Club is all about.

👀 ON OUR CRAFTY RADAR

We thought we might start sharing the occasional local crafty workshop or event that catches our eye — basically, things that float our boat and we think might float yours too! 😂💚

First up is this lovely Candle in a Teacup workshop Kyndfolk by The Bumble Collective . 🕯️☕

Had I been free this weekend, I might actually have given this one a go myself!

We know it’s September …. But
🎄 LOOKING BACK AT LAST CHRISTMAS… 🎄

Just looking back through some of the photos from last year’s Christmas wreath workshop and how brilliant was this?! ❤️

So many completely different wreaths, lots of laughter, plenty of Christmas chaos 😂 and everyone going home with something they were genuinely proud of.

One thing that’s really important to us at Worcester Crafty Club is that our workshops work.

We spend a lot of time beforehand making samples, trying things out and making sure there are plenty of lovely materials and lots of choice. We never want anyone sitting there worrying they’ve used too much of something or feeling there isn’t enough to choose from.

We want you to come along, have a laugh, enjoy making something and, most importantly, go home happy with what you’ve created. ❤️

Looking at these photos, we think this workshop definitely ticked all those boxes! 😂🎄

And it’s exactly what we’re aiming for again with this year’s Baubles & Bubbles table decorations. 🥂🎄

Lovely materials, lots of choice, plenty of help… and hopefully plenty of laughs along the way.

That’s what Worcester Crafty Club is all about. ❤️

Maybe next year we could revisit the Burlap Wreaths??

🌺 A LITTLE BIT OF CROCHET FOR A LOVELY LOCAL CAUSE 🌺

I’ve just started crocheting some poppies for a local Poppy Appeal ❤️

Now, I’ll be honest — I’m by no means a crochet expert! 😂 But these are actually really easy to make and surprisingly quick too.

So if you’ve been thinking you’d like to have a go at crochet, this could be a brilliant little project to start with. You don’t need to be an expert, you can make just a few, and best of all they’re going towards something really worthwhile.

The finished poppies will be used to create a poppy drop at St James Church, which I think will look absolutely wonderful when they’re all put together. 🌺🌺🌺

The local Poppy Appeal launches on 22nd October, with volunteers at Tesco St Peter’s and St Peter’s Garden Centre, and they’re looking for lots more handmade poppies for the display.

🧶 There are patterns available for both crochet AND knitted poppies, so you can choose whichever you prefer.

I’ve made a start on mine… who fancies joining me? ❤️

Even a handful of poppies will help — and just imagine seeing one you’ve made as part of the finished display!

💍 A VERY SPECIAL CRAFTY PROJECT 💍

For the past couple of months, I’ve been sneaking off to sessions with the lovely Zoe Z Crafts, working on something rather special… ❤️

With Zoe’s expert guidance (and LOTS of patience!), I needle felted this little bride and groom cake topper for my son Lewis and his now wife Amy’s wedding.

And here it is in pride of place on their wedding cake! 🥹💍

I honestly can’t tell you how delighted I am with how it turned out. From slowly creating their little faces, outfits and all those tiny details, to finally seeing them standing on top of the cake on the big day — it made all those hours of stabbing wool with a needle completely worth it! 😂

One of the things we love most about crafting is being able to make something that you simply couldn’t buy in a shop — something completely personal, made by hand and full of memories.

A huge thank you to Zoe at Z Crafts for guiding me through the whole process. I definitely couldn’t have created this without her expertise and encouragement. ❤️

I think these two might be one of my favourite things I’ve ever made — not because they’re perfect, but because of who they were made for. ❤️

Coming on your own? 💚

Sometimes the hardest part of coming to a workshop is simply deciding to come.

Not because you don’t fancy the craft or think you won’t enjoy it — but because you’d be coming on your own.

And then your brain starts…

What if everyone else comes with a friend?
What if they all know each other?
Who am I going to sit with?
What if I feel a bit awkward?

We know this because some of our Crafty Clubbers have actually told us they’ve felt exactly like that.

One lady told us she felt sick sitting in the car before one of our workshops because she could see other people arriving together.

Another told us afterwards that she’d been apprehensive about coming alone because she imagined everyone would be in their own little cliques — only to discover that wasn’t the case at all. She said everyone chatted, encouraged each other and made her feel welcome. She enjoyed herself so much she booked another workshop.

And that’s the bit we’d really like people to know.

You don’t need to find someone to come with you.

If there’s something you fancy having a go at, come and have a go.

Once everyone gets immersed in making something, the conversation just seems to happen. People pass things across the table, admire what someone else is making, ask questions, help each other out and, inevitably at a Crafty Club workshop, there’s usually quite a lot of laughing too. 😂

Some people arrive with friends. Some arrive alone. Within a little while, it really doesn’t seem to matter who came with whom.

We already have quite a few ladies coming to Baubles & Bubbles on their own, and we hope they’re looking forward to it rather than worrying about it.

Just come.

We’ll look after you. Get stuck into your craft, have a chat, have a laugh and enjoy a couple of hours doing something just because you fancied it.

You might arrive without knowing anybody, but as I’m always saying…

“A stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet.”
