Inspiration for our Dizzy Mother & Babe bobbins! The Aubretia is putting on a show here in our garden and sitting down for a quick a cup of coffee one day back in 2010 we looked at the masses of tiny flowers and thought... "They need to be on a bobbin!" They have been in our catalogue ever since. Maybe we need to do a blue one and a red one?

There are many ways to use a divider pin! Janet in the UK sent us these 2 photos of her pillow which shows one of her Archer long handled dividers being put to use as a thread delivery system, alongside her Archer bobbins. Brilliant😄

What a beautiful match! Jenny in Australia sent the photo of her wonderful bone bobbin pillow to us recently which is on our page below this, a couple of posts down, and she's also sent us this delightful photo of the bookmark she made around the time the photo was taken. It isn't the exact same one on the pillow in her initial photo but she says its very similar and we thinks it's gorgeous🦋
Jenny says "The butterfly bookmark is an example of adding extra bobbins of colour as weavers which are then removed on completion of butterfly . I have many bookmarks made this way and really enjoy the technique."
We also think it's a match made in heaven for our Kaleidoscope bobbins - couldn't be more perfect!

Majestic! Janet in the UK has sent this photo of her set of Majestic bobbins, she's spangled them beautifully and they're ready for action😁
All our bobbins are made by hand using hand selected English bone that we source, prepare and cut ourselves. It's finest quality English cattle bone but Ben's very picky and we only use the best of the sticks that we cut each day!

All the way from Australia 🌏We're thrilled to share this gorgeous photo of Jenny's pillow from The Canberra Lacemakers. First shared in late 2023 and then lost forever when our original page was hijacked, the bookmark in progress was then given as a gift and it was made using her fab collection of bone bobbins, many of which we made for her! Many thanks for sending this Jenny and we L😍VE receiving photos.

Seeing as Spring is now in full bloom here in the west of the UK and it's actually a fairly warm May Day Holiday weekend we thought it was a good time to show you our Floral Print and Gerbera bobbins that were inspired by floral fabrics Ben grew up with from Tony & Sue Archer's Suffolk home, back in the 1970's / 1980's.
They moved there and started selling wooden toys and chess sets from a small shop in the front of the house before Tony started making bobbins in the late 70's.

Things that make us smile... this beautiful Forget Me Not border by Louise West certainly ticks that box. Just gorgeous. And of course we have some bobbins to go with it!
Forget Me Nots are one of our favourite flowers and they have been used to decorate Archer bobbins since the late 1970's when Tony Archer started making bobbins in Suffolk. All except one of these 4 bobbins are decorated with them:
From left: True Love from our new Floriography set then Elegance from the 2015 archive which is not decorated with Forget Me Nots but is so pretty that we've included it here! Next is our original Forget Me Nots bobbin from 1984 and then it's Forget Me Nots Rays from 2024. So many ways to enjoy Forget Me nots on a bobbin!
