'A warm glow' and 'Plant pots by the window' are now in the St.Andrews Methodist Church exhibtion for sale in Worcester, pump street 🌞 Loved the warm yellows and oranges in both of these ✨️

The goal was use a photographers photos and respond in your own style. I enjoyed doing something a little different to my usual work🪴

The exhibtion is open daily 10:30-3:30pm until the 31st May, along with lots of other artwork! Each painting is for sale, £95

Painted a little yellow house for a 1 hour practice study. I wanted it to be loose and freeing 💛

The reference was from a hike in Kaikoura, New Zealand, the photo doesn't even show the beauty of that place. I wanted to capture a feeling rather than a precise copy. How I felt in that moment is hard to put into words, which is why I paint 🤓.

Highly recommend creating just for practice sometimes and not for show.

Thoughts -

• I paint much better when I don't film myself🫣
• Doing a 1 hour small painting start to finish is more helpful than a big painting that can take months.
• I overblend sometimes and need to paint a mark and leave it
• I went in a little too thick with paint early on and couldn't build up layers

Painting my wedding bouquet has been so fun, I just love florals🌷 I can't wait to hang this at home as a reminder of all the pretty pink and burgundy colours from our special day 🥰

From too many times not trusting myself, believe me TRUST THE PROCESS!! It will look better you just have to keep going😊

Super excited to start this piece - some behind the scenes and close ups of the first layer 👀

Working hard to be more intentional with each brush stroke 👌

Finished! The warm sun hitting the vase makes me ready for spring!🌷Especially on gloomy cold days like today 😭

I wanted to work on how much I could push colour to show the focal point 🐱

I had a rough plan, but also wanted to go with the flow & it turned out better than I expected! 😌🌷

This new way of working is much more natural & expressive to me😌🌻

However, I still always plan a painting in Procreate or with a simple sketch first! ✨️
