A beautiful autumn day today in Worthing! Sadly our wonderful pier has had to temporarily close due to storm damage affecting the support structure. It’s a bitter blow to the two very successful restaurants Perch and Tern located in the building at the end of the pier just as the festive season is about to start. The council have said the repairs should be done by the end of November so 🤞

My very lovely generous sister has been trying to persuade me to buy an Air Fryer but I have resisted mainly because I don’t know if I actually would use it! Well, she disregarded my doubts and decided to gift me one as a surprise, It arrived today complete with accessories including a cookery book . I feel quite inspired. Watch this space!

I really miss sewing for my Etsy shop but don’t miss the constant feeling that I’ve got to continually promote myself! I’ve been using up some of the fabrics from my stash to make gifts for family and friends, it’s so less stressful!

My paternal grandmother was an avid knitter and made lovely baby clothes for all her grandchildren. She was a diabetic and eventually due to that lost her sight and couldn’t follow a pattern anymore but I can well remember very many years ago when I was aged 8 or 9 watching her knit dishcloths, all in garterstitch and in ecru dishcloth cotton, she kept everyone well supplied! I’ve been using up some oddments of DK cotton yarn to make myself some dishcloths and thought of my grandmother often, she would have been amazed at the variety of cotton yarns available today but sadly wouldn’t have been able to see them.
