The beautiful cotton lawn which was on the cutting table a few weeks ago has been transformed by our customer into this lovely summer top!

It is super soft and cool and the colours really pop.

Made with guidance from the fabulous Martha Sewing Shed Stroud , who runs a range of brilliant courses and workshops.

The care and pride in making or repairing your own clothes is a positive and sustainable alternative to fast fashion. It is also a mindful and creative way to express yourself in clothes which are designed to fit you.

When Nicola’s not in the shop, you may well find her at the vineyard she and her husband planted last year in Waterley Bottom! With four Ouessant sheep - the world’s smallest breed - grazing the land, she is looking forward to the day she can knit her own wool whilst sipping a glass of their wine!

If you would like to find out more about the venture, come along to North Nibley Wine Festival this weekend at Binley Farm. Last year’s event was a great success, with the chance to experience and buy wines from local vineyards and learn about the area’s growing wine industry.

Our workshops are always enjoyable, informative and relaxed, with careful attention to detail and a glass of fizz for good measure!

This week we have another hand embroidery session with the lovely Nicola from Nicola Stacey.

We have a few places left to sew a beautiful - and shimmering - framed dragonfly.

As always, everything is included - including Merchant & Mills organic cotton fabric, DMC threads and Prym 🇪🇺 | Happiness is handmade. needles.

On Thursday 18th June, 6.30 - 9.00pm it costs £40.
