Am loving my new Mirrix loom! As I’m doing more tapestry work now I thought it would be good to go on a course to build my knowledge and skills so I enrolled on Liz Whiteside’s Artful Threads course.
The majority of the pieces that you create are just a few inches in size so I warped the loom to fit several on. Here’s the first piece, a beach scene where colours are blended to create the tones of the beach, sea and sky. I’m now working on the third piece and will photograph it once completed together with the second piece. I’ve learned a lot in the short time I’ve been following the course and am developing much tidier ways of working! It’s so therapeutic to sit and work in my studio, just me and the loom, it helps me forget some of my pain.
