Rant time 😡…

Well, the wonderful algorithms are certainly opening my eyes this weekend! I’ve come across so many posts showing my work as someone else’s, and even posts using my designs with comments like “I can make this cheaper if anyone wants one.” 😡😡😡

A couple of things I want to say about this…

There are SO many talented wreath makers out there, and that’s fantastic. Everyone has their own style, their own niche and their own customers. There is plenty of business out there for everyone.

But what really gets my blood boiling is seeing someone copying my work and then blatantly advertising my designs as their own, or using my work to say they can make it cheaper.

What people don’t always see is the time and effort that goes into creating a design before I even start making it. I spend time sourcing stock, choosing colours, finding the right pieces and designing something that I’m proud to put my name to. All of that, along with materials, packaging, business costs, time, experience and everything else that comes with running a small business, is reflected in my prices.

So please, do your research before you buy. ❤️

Look at reviews. Check whether they have a proper website. Look through their social media and see if their photos and videos are consistent. Ask yourself whether you’re seeing their own work regularly, from different angles and in different settings.

With my own work, I try to show as many angles, photos and videos as possible. I’ll even put myself in some of my videos (which, believe me, I’m NOT a fan of 😂) because I know that showing the person behind the business helps build trust.

Please be careful about who you’re buying from, especially with Christmas approaching. 🎄❤️ The last thing I would want is for anyone to spend their hard-earned money and then be disappointed or, worse, not receive what they were expecting.

I work incredibly hard to create my designs, and I’m so grateful to every single person who recognises, respects and supports that. Your support genuinely means the world to me. ❤️
