We are deeply saddened by the passing of David Hockney, one of Britain's most celebrated artists and a true gentleman.

For many years, it was our privilege to supply David with graphic art materials, and in 2019 my son and I were fortunate enough to spend a wonderful day with David, JP and Jonathan at his home in France — a memory we will always treasure.

David's remarkable career spanned decades, inspiring generations of artists and transforming the world of art with his creativity, vision and originality. Yet beyond his extraordinary talent, he was warm, gracious and always a pleasure to know.
We feel incredibly fortunate to have known David personally and to have played a small part in supporting his artistic journey. His work, spirit and influence will continue to inspire for many years to come.

Our thoughts are with JP, Jonathan, his family and friends at this difficult time.
Thank you, David, for the joy, colour and inspiration you brought to the world.
Rest in peace. ❤️

🎨 Why does the same Pantone colour look different when printed?

You choose a Pantone colour, approve the proof, and then print it on two different pieces—only to find the colours don’t match.

The reason isn’t the ink.

It’s the paper.

✅ Coated paper has a smooth, sealed surface, so ink stays on top and colours appear brighter and more vibrant.

✅ Uncoated paper absorbs ink into the fibres, making colours look softer and slightly more muted.

Quick Tip

Always specify the correct Pantone version for your stock:

• C = Coated
• U = Uncoated

Using the wrong swatch reference is one of the most common causes of unexpected colour shifts in print.
