This corner never gets styled for anyone. It’s where I end up most evenings, the lamp on and the house quiet 🤍

Flax has been here in my living room for a while now, long before it had a name, and it’s now joining the Jessica Kathryn Collection. Soft ribbed fur in that quiet shade between warm white and pale ivory, tucked in at the end of the sofa where I curl up.

I can’t resist an oblong cushion in our projects. More on Flax very soon, but for now, just a little corner of home I love.

A week in my life 🤍

We have so many projects at installation stage right now, and it’s still so amazing for me to see things come to life! We also had the best time at the P.A.U.L for Brain Ball 10 year anniversary. And I can’t believe we are almost (!) finished at the River Project.

No two weeks are ever the same, and that’s exactly what I love about it.

Episode 3 is all about the materials ✨

We’ve had a year to plan this project with the architects and get planning approved, and I’ve used that time properly. I’ve been through so many samples and spent hours talking to suppliers who really know their stuff. This is our final materials board.

The one I’m most excited about is the floor. The dark stone that’s in there now is coming out, and the limestone is going in. Dark stone soaks up light, limestone bounces it around, so the whole space will feel lighter and calmer - even as we reduce the glazing.

Every material on this board was chosen carefully. Stay tuned to see them in the finished space.

Episode 2 of the studio build 🏠✨

This time I’m walking you through the layout we’ve settled on for the studio. From the project tables and desks to the client meeting space, we can’t wait to move into our new home.

New to the collection! ☁️

Meet Melissa & Selene, two frames that just joint the JKI edit.

We chose these for the way they catch the light without shouting for attention. Quiet, considered pieces that hold their own on a mantle or built in shelving.

Full introduction (with the story behind them) coming next week. For now, just take a moment to look.

This is the Sol Lamp, with three light levels so it fits any vibe. Designing in ambient lighting is such an important part of our projects, it’s the layer that makes the room feel finished.

Sol earned its place in the collection because it doesn’t just stay in one room. We move it to the guest room as a bedside light, into the living room for a low level glow in the evening, or into the dinner table when the big lights need to go off and the mood needs to change.

Planning permission for the new roof came through in August, so the studio build officially starts! And we’re documenting the whole thing.

We wanted to show this project step by step rather than just post the finished result. This is how we actually run a project, and we thought our own studio was the best way to show it!

Next week we will take you through how we are planning on fitting all the different areas into this one room.

If I’m honest, mid to late installation is my favourite part of any project. It’s the point where everything starts to look like the space we imagined. The materials come alive, the details start standing out, and I still get excited every time!
