For the past six months, I’ve been working with the amazing Claire at on the interior design of my 1930s home renovation. While it’s still very much a work in progress, I wanted to share a little sneak peek of some of the sitting room design choices.
The one feature I knew I wanted to preserve was the beautiful original 1930s fireplace tiles. Claire immediately saw their potential and created the most incredible palette and layout that truly celebrates them.
She took into consideration how we want to use the space, the natural lighting from the large bay window, and she allowed me space to weave in personal elements I already own and love, and generally helped me organise my thoughts and preferences into something cohesive.
This room is all about respecting the character of the house while giving it a fresh, considered new life. I can’t wait to share the full room but we’re still waiting on another sofa to replace the two cream chairs pictured, new curtains, carpentry... More to come on this space and others, and of course, look out for how I use artificial flowers to add colour, texture and intrigue to each space!
