Happy Sunday dear ones!
☀️
This time of year always inspires me. I get so many ideas that I get drawn to fulfil, inspiration comes from unexpected places and my spirit feels lifted as I get outdoors in the autumn air and see the ripe fruits and berries dripping from the trees and bushes.
What comforts my soul even more is that so many of them have medicinal qualities and have been plucked and used in teas, tinctures, syrups, jams and jellies by our ancestors- so in the act of foraging them I find something primal and beautiful. A connection to the past, to nature and to myself. To my great great great great grandmother whose name I may never know but who likely saw the wild rose wilt and turn into rose hip for her to gather in her basket or apron and create something to be enjoyed by herself and her family.
I’ve made bottles of rosehip syrup, a traditional recipe some of the older generations would remember as the only source of vitamin C they would have during the colder months.
There are some wonderful and simple recipes online, but for those who would rather one ready to take home we have them here at Prāna 🌹
If you would like to attend a workshop making medicine out of nature then stay tuned for a Hawthorn Heart Healing afternoon of foraging, tincture making and tea drinking ❤️
