If you’ve been dreaming of big, beautiful thriving hydrangeas for next spring or summer, Fall is actually one of the BEST times to plant them. 🌿🤍

HERE’S WHY:

Planting hydrangeas in the fall gives their roots time to settle in and get established while the temperatures are cooler and the plant isn’t working so hard to produce new growth and blooms.

That means when spring rolls around, your hydrangeas already have a head start. 🌸

A few fall planting tips:
🌿 Plant several weeks before your first hard freeze
🌿 Choose a spot with morning sun and some afternoon shade
🌿 Water deeply after planting and keep the soil consistently moist while the roots establish
🌿 Add a layer of mulch around the base to help protect those new roots and retain moisture

Sometimes the prettiest things we grow in spring start with a little work in the fall. 🤍

We took a homeschool field trip to the Georgia Museum of Agriculture GA Museum Of Agriculture in Tifton, Georgia, and it was one of those days where learning didn’t feel like school at all.

The kids got to step back in time and experience a little piece of Georgia’s 1800s agricultural history while exploring historic buildings, farm life, animals, and what everyday life looked like generations ago.

And THIS is one of my favorite things about homeschooling.

History isn’t just something we have to read about in a book. We can go see it. Walk through it. Ask questions about it. And make memories while we’re learning.

Whether you homeschool or you’re simply looking for something different to do with your kids, this is such a fun stop to add to your Georgia traveling adventures. 🌾🐓

One year. 🤍

It’s hard to believe how much life can change in 365 days.

A year ago, I was grieving two very different kinds of loss within 24 hours of each other. I had no idea what the next chapter of my life would look like. I just knew I had two little people depending on me, and I had to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

So I held onto Jesus. I loved my babies. And I kept going.

And somewhere along the way, the ashes started turning into something beautiful.

A new home. A new life in the country. Kids who are thriving. Baby chicks and ducks. New friendships. A finished manuscript. A #1 bestselling book. USA TODAY. Podcasts. Opportunities I never could have planned.

But more than anything, I found myself again.

I learned that I could stand on my own two feet. That I could do hard things. That I could build a beautiful life for my children. And that sometimes the chapter you never wanted to end makes room for a chapter you never knew was waiting for you.

God was writing a new story even when I couldn’t see it yet.
