It’s autumn, so let’s paint this cute little pumpkin!

It’s totally free!

• Start with an oval and fill it with light ochre paint.

• Add C-shaped lower legs, one on each side.

• Use the same C-shaped forms to create volume in the upper body.

• Add an upside-down U-shape for the head and neck.

• Paint a soft triangular muzzle and two small, round ears.

• Add a long, curved tail.

• Drop in darker paint along the spine, ears, tail, legs, and shoulders.

• Once dry, add more shading and cheetah spots — larger along the spine and tail, and smaller toward the head and legs.

• Add a few darker details to emphasize the illustration.

This little autumn tree is so easy to paint and I’m using a kitchen sponge to create all those beautiful leaves.

I’m using orange, yellow, ochre, and just a little brown for the branches.

For the details, I’m using #4 and #1 brushes.

Just follow my steps and watch it come to life. You don’t need complicated techniques to paint something beautiful.

Join me for an easy step-by-step watercolor painting process and let’s paint this little mushroom together.

To paint this mushroom, start by finding the basic shape:

• Start with a simple infinity shape.
• Add an oval on top and fill it with warm brown tones.
• Drop in some brighter color while the paint is still wet.
• Paint the stem and add the small skirt with loose, wavy lines.
• Add light washes and darker shades to create depth and texture.
• Paint the gills under the cap with simple curved lines.
• Add the final details, let it dry, remove the salt texture, and finish with white gouache spots.
