Sun Salutation Room

Block722’s “Architects of the Year” installation is a spatial manifesto that blends architecture, interior design, art, and storytelling.

Inspired by Mediterranean spirit and Scandinavian clarity, it explores contrast as harmony and simplicity as depth.

The experience begins with the primal elements - earth, air, light.

As visitors move through the space, they transition from intensity to calm, from exposure to protection, from shadow to light.

The installation becomes a ritual of reconnection with place, material, memory, and self - an atmosphere activated through all senses.

At the heart of the space, a rock acts as a vessel of memory, engraved with three Block722 projects that trace a path of internal journey and evolution.

The “Greeting to the Sun” invites visitors to pause, observe, and remember: every project begins with a lived experience - and ultimately returns to the light.

Senior Architect Engineer

Our studio is looking for a qualified senior architect with 8+ years of experience to join our team.

Role and Responsibilities:
· Lead and contribute to the design and development of architectural proposals based on the project brief.
· Guide and collaborate with project teams throughout all design stages.
· Prepare and present design concepts and documentation to clients, consultants, and collaborators.
· Coordinate with external stakeholders: engineers, vendors, manufacturers, and contractors.
· Review and ensure the quality and consistency of deliverables across all project phases.
· Participate in meetings related to design development, technical detailing, and project implementation.

Skills Required:
· 8+ years of experience in architecture, with a focus on high-quality residential or hospitality projects.
· Strong experience in construction documentation and technical detailing.
· Knowledge of Greek building codes and permitting procedures (NOK).
· Proficiency in all design stages: from concept to construction documents.
· Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD
· Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Revit (BIM).
· Fluency in written and spoken English.
· Experience with the e-adeies digital permitting platform.
· Experience in construction sites and familiarity with project ex*****on processes.

At Block722, we envisioned Eco Villa at Gundari Resort, Folegandros as a dialogue between land, architecture, and memory.

Perched on the cliffs, the villa merges with the island’s raw beauty through local stone, plaster, wood, willow, and olive trees. We designed sheltered courtyards and terraces that invite both gathering and solitude, always in harmony with the natural environment.

Our goal was to reflect the unhurried rhythm of Folegandros—to create a retreat that feels timeless, serene, and deeply rooted in place.
