This artwork was born during the Synergy Activity organized within the framework of Training for the Contact Zone, in collaboration with CUYO and Araneida Textile Studio.
We explored the buildings of Chania—their stories, the many lives they have lived, and how their purpose has transformed over time. Inspired by these layers of history and change, we gave old T-shirts a new life by turning them into yarn.
After few hours sharing ideas and reflecting together, we co-created the design of our weaving based in the idea of the elements of our town, Chania. Then, over four days, we wove side by side, thread by thread, conversation by conversation. 😉
Araneida Textile Studio is really glad for this great collaboration and can’t wait to weave more moments like this 💛
