DESMOS Chair — 2004
Designed by Sotiris Lazou Design Studio for VARANGIS / Varangis Schemata.
Desmos — meaning “bond” or “connection” in Greek — was conceived as a dialogue between structure and ornament. A rigorous geometric frame is contrasted by the expressive, almost sculptural composition of the backrest, creating a chair with a strong and distinctive identity.
Designed more than two decades ago, DESMOS reflects an approach that continues to define our work today: balancing functionality, craftsmanship and artistic expression.

KAMARA — Concrete Table Series

Designed by Sotiris Lazou for Urbi et Orbi Medius Terra Collection.

Inspired by the distinctive arches of Santorini and the Cycladic islands, Kamara translates Mediterranean architecture into a sculptural contemporary form.

Available as a side table and a flower stand, the series combines the raw authenticity of concrete with subtle elements of bohemian luxury, creating pieces that feel both architectural and warm.

Designed for indoor and outdoor use, Kamara brings together tradition and contemporary living, celebrating Mediterranean heritage through a timeless, functional object.

Produced as part of Urbi et Orbi Zero Waste Project, developed over the past three years, with a 20% recycling rate.

Modularity meets sculptural form.

Our goal when designing for AL2 was to create pieces that blend architectural elegance with real-world usability. The HYPER coffee table pictured is the result: a striking dark wood form that can be configured in endless ways, adapting to the needs of the home. It’s about creating design that is both a statement and a solution.
