Lobmeyr Hong Kong

Lobmeyr Hong Kong Lobmeyr is in its 6th generation as a family business today. A love of material, emotional relations What’s more?

Lobmeyr began in 1823 when Josef Lobmeyr, a native Austrian born in a glazier family, first opened a small glassware shop in Weihburggasse, Vienna. Now in its sixth generation, the firm’s success lies not only in a genuine love of glass but also their passion to constantly push for its contemporary interpretation. The input of invited designers has always formed a big part of Lobmeyr’s development

, starting from the collaboration with well-known architects Joseph Hoffmann and Adolf Loos in the early 20th century to jewelry designer Ted Muehling today. All of them are able to understand the spirit of Lobmeyr and fulfill the needs for those who seek the finest quality and craftsmanship. You can find Lobmeyr design all over the world including MoMA in New York, Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MAK in Vienna. Exclusive star restaurateurs also swear by the magic of Lobmeyr glassware, including classic master Alain Ducasse, Thomas Keller of The French Laundry or Catalan avant-garde chef Ferran Adrià, both awarded the maximum three stars by the Michelin Guide. They cherish the exceptional shapes and the restaurant culture there is at a very high level overall. Things are served from many different kinds of shapes, which are consciously chosen to match the food, drink, and guest.

CALABASH VASES, designed by 2016

The calabash gourd has been used as a vessel for ages, its extraordinary shape inspired porcelain vases in Baroque and ancient Chinese times.

Lotus flowers, deeply connected to Asian and Buddhist culture. Serene bouquet of fresh cut lotus flower buds and seed pods in a calabash vase, beautiful symbol of purity, spirituality and peace.

They appeal as a group, but also as a single piece. The vases are available in subtle colours amethyst, rosalin and black.

Drinking set no.4, designed by: Ludwig Lobmeyr in 1856

This round base with stopper features a classic and bulbous shape that narrows at the neck, ideal for decanting. The beaded border engraving on glassware is a decorative technique that creates a series of small sunken dots that resemble a string of pearls to create a delicate and elegant design.

This drinking set belongs to a body of about one hundred sets designed by Ludwig Lobmeyr himself. The clear shape and fine appearance make it a true classic. In its simplicity and functionality, the series is designated as the origin of the modern wine glass in museum collections and publications.

Drinking set no.276 - Ballerina, designed by Paul Wieser, 1992

It is another masterpiece of “Muslin” drinking glass set from Paul Wieser. Potassium is used instead of lead, its stable chemical element which makes the glass harder and more elastic to manage the design with craftsman’s skillful hands. Stunningly precise, muslin glass appears delicate, but is remarkably resilient due to its inner elasticity and formal construction. It conveys the idea of “enjoying the lightness of life on tiptoe.”

Guidelines drawn up by helped to find the perfect shape for the bowl. The generous, slender stems place every beverage in the foreground of enjoyment.

When the New York Metropolitan Opera opened on September 13th, 1966, the first applause went to the 20 in main auditorium and 12 pieces in the foyer became the landmark of the city. The Starburst design comes from Hans Harald Rath of J. & L. LOBMEYR and the concept is inspired by a "space age" fever in the 60's. It is a gift to the United States of America by the Republic of Austria out of gratitude for the European Recovery Program after World War II.

The aesthetic sense comes from the brass materials, thousands of Swarovski crystals and its pattern of rays radiating from the central source of light. Now, you can bring this resembling galaxy piece to home with different coloured shining stars to create a new and modern lifestyle.

Whispers of the Spirit: Fruit Brandy Tasting Experience

Heartfelt thanks to the British luxury automobile maker, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and Rochelt artisanal distillery nestled in the Tyrolean Alps of Austria, renowned for its exceptional fruit brandies. We spent a good time with Rolls-Royce fans to share the experience of meticulous craftsmanship, the passion, and the extraordinary efforts that elevate them beyond the ordinary.

We selected spirit glass designed by Mark Braun and master distiller Christoph Keller for this tasting session. The shape of this glass abstracted from a distilling flask, stemless design can let you warm the spirit to the perfect temperature by hand. Escaping aromas stream up through the gently bowed chimney of the glass and are taken up by the nose in full stream before the first sip.

What's more? We presented the exquisite works such as copper-wheel engraving, enamel arts of the ancient Roman techniques and the pioneer design during the period of 1910- 1930.
