Redefining the workplace rhythm for Bloomberg, Hong Kong. 📍
Bean Buro was commissioned to redesign two floors of Bloomberg’s headquarters, with a vision to blend an open-plan workspace with a large-scale, flexible event venue. The result is a space that is elegant, transparent, and deeply connected to Bloomberg’s identity.
Taking inspiration from the poetry of data, we introduced a layered spatial rhythm anchored by a stunning coved timber ceiling. This project was a holistic effort, where we also provided LEED consultancy (achieving Gold), structural engineering for a new staircase, and acoustic design.
What makes the space unique:
➡️ A Unifying Feature: The sculptural timber ceiling ties the auditorium and pre-function area together, hiding advanced AV and lighting within its curves.
➡️ Vertical Connectivity: A new timber staircase encourages movement and connects the floors physically and visually.
➡️ Transformative Layouts: Operable walls and fully mobile furniture allow the auditorium to double in size for events, or create intimate settings for board meetings.
➡️ Collaboration First: The workplace floor is entirely open-plan, dotted with tech-enabled breakout areas to foster transparency and teamwork.
➡️ Human-Centric Design: From a dedicated well-being room to natural textures and maximised harbour views, every detail supports mental clarity and comfort.
We’re proud of how this design enhances both daily operations and large-scale gatherings for the Bloomberg team.
