Have you ever wondered how wood and leather become a piece of furniture built to last?

Build your own deep-buttoned leather footstool, from the wooden frame through to the final brass tack detailing, in the first Lamma Makerspace Signature Series course.

Across approximately 12 hours, you will learn introductory woodworking, construct the upholstered foundation, shape and deep-button the leather, and leave with a handcrafted piece of furniture that is entirely your own.

Designed for beginners and limited to just four participants, this is a technical but accessible course for anyone curious about craftsmanship, handmade furniture and learning practical new skills.

Supported by BFelix, the course combines specialist upholstery expertise with a considered approach to sustainability, using premium natural and more environmentally conscious materials.

📅 18 to 20 September 2026
Friday evening woodwork, followed by upholstery on Saturday and Sunday
📍 Lamma Makerspace, under 30 minutes from Central by ferry
👥 Maximum 4 participants
💰 HKD 5,800, all-inclusive

Step away from the digital world for a bit, bring your own drink or snack, and enjoy a calm, hands-on afternoon of making.

From 1pm onwards, choose between:

🧵 Macramé Fish Keychain Workshop
Only 100 HKD per person
Make 1 to 2 colourful keychains using soft T-shirt yarn. Relaxing, tactile and beginner-friendly.

🎨 Miniature Painting Workshop
Only 250 HKD per person
Paint 3 tabletop figurines using acrylic paints, professional brushes, and decorate the bases with sand, grass and small details.

Come solo, with friends, or as a family. You’ll leave with something handmade, not just another screen photo 😊

Spaces are limited and bookings are encouraged so we can prepare materials.

Miniature Painting for all ages at Lamma Makerspace 🎨

Looking for something creative, relaxed and fun to do on Lamma?

Join us on Sunday 12 July for a hands-on miniature painting workshop. You’ll choose and paint 3 tabletop figures using acrylic paints, with guidance throughout. Great for kids, teens, adults, beginners, hobbyists, curious first-timers and anyone who just wants to switch off and make something tiny and brilliant.

Small group only, with max 6 people per workshop, so everyone gets proper support.

Rain outside, wood shavings inside. Today’s project was a handmade woodpecker door knocker, and the best part was seeing it move for the first time.

The Lamma Makerspace is proud to be working with the grade 4 class to build the school's very first sandbox.

We designed the sandbox, built a 16 page mini curriculum to accompany the project, sourced the materials, and brought the machines. The school provided their hands on creators and their own amazing Makerspace. Together, we're building something special!

Adults welcome, kids aged 7 and up welcome, and children aged 4 to 7 can join with an accompanying adult.
