Day 11 - Home for one, home for two

This apartment in Hong Kong was reimagined with a complete relayout to maximise the stunning city views, turning every corner into a front-row seat to the skyline.

Custom carpentry weaves warmth and soul throughout—timber panels, seamless built-ins, and thoughtful joinery that elevate daily rituals into moments of quiet happiness.

Designed as a flexible sanctuary: perfectly serene for a bachelor, yet effortlessly welcoming for a couple. Intimate yet open, minimal yet rich in texture.

A home that adapts, breathes, and brings joy—whether shared with one or two hearts.

Team: Tommy Yeung, Kyris Lam

Day 9 – Exploded Axonometric Drawings

We find exploded axonometric drawings particularly useful for showing the life within a building—how connections and spatial arrangements can form settings for meaningful encounters. They also provide a helpful way to discuss ideas within our team and with clients.

Day 8: Home for Two Doctors

A private residence is often the most intimate collaboration between architect and client.

This project celebrates purity and precision through contrasting spatial experiences: a warm timber-clad room modulated by adjustable natural light; a serene, pure white volume; a bathroom opening onto expansive views; and a dramatic dark space pierced by a single slit of light.

These elements create a layered journey—subtle revelations and hidden treasures unfolding throughout the home.

It was a rewarding collaboration with the clients, and a valuable opportunity to re-explore the nuances of carpentry details.

Day 5 - The Dome ✨

Discover the Madam Tsang Chor-hang Heritage Museum at YCIS Hong Kong — a peaceful space in the heart of our 90+ year-old school, connecting us to the rich story of human history.

Inspired by founder Madam Tsang Chor-hang, who greeted students with her warm smile every morning at 7.30AM,the design reflects humility, reflection, and looking forward while honouring the past.

This elegant semi-spherical “Dome” on the school podium serves as both museum and reception, blending tradition with modern minimalist design: polished steel, natural elements, and beautiful lighting.

Ten sliding panels create flexible displays for artefacts, texts, and interactive exhibits. Retract them to reveal an open classroom surrounded by treasured Chinese relics.

A serene spot for contemplation and cultural connection.

Day 4 of Eureka

Trying something new this time.

Forward Earth — our first collaboration with IOIO Studio , a conceptual exhibition proposal submitted earlier this year for the new Science Centre Singapore.

(This one didn’t make the cut, but we’re proud of the ideas we explored!)

This concept traces the epic history of our planet from its fiery birth 4.6 billion years ago to today. It places humanity’s brief presence — a mere blink in geological time — against Earth’s vast, unfolding story.

Like the foreword of a grand novel, “Forward Earth” is a concise yet captivating introduction: celebrating the breathtaking forces that shaped our world, while reflecting on the profound marks humans have left upon it.

At the heart of the design is the *Vista Apparatus* — a bold, minimalist geometric installation that acts as a narrative guide through Earth’s timeline. Its clean, precise form stands in deliberate contrast to the organic essence of the planet, expressed through the room’s evolving material palette: starting with raw rammed earth and gradually shifting to polished concrete. This material gradient subtly illustrates the growing influence of human activity on the natural world.

The *Vista Apparatus* invites visitors to step inside, look out, and immerse themselves in the dynamic dialogue between nature and human ingenuity — blending scientific wonder with a powerful spatial experience.

Big thanks to Matthew for his sharp insights and meticulous eye for detail. And huge gratitude to Sa Chu and Jack — it was so much fun diving into all those incredible artefacts together!

Day 3 - Construction to Completion 2023-2025

New Learning Block – Yew Wah International Education School, Guangzhou

To date, our studio’s largest project: a 93m-long, 5-storey linear block oriented south, with all 32 classrooms enjoying expansive views over the 400m running track and open fields.

Vast southern vistas, an elevated presence, and lush northern greenery create an open, inviting environment for the school community.

At ground level, a shaded arcade offers generous covered connections to the landscape. On upper floors, classrooms pair as learning studios with shared commons in between. Continuous cantilevered balconies—featuring exposed beams for honest structural expression—bring fluid circulation, abundant natural light, ventilation, and playful shade patterns.

Subtle shifts and angles in classroom pairs break facade monotony, while white textured paint amplifies light and shadow play across the beams and surfaces.

Completed in July 2025 – excited for the next phase in the future!

On the first day of Christmas... we’re borrowing that classic tune for something truly magical!

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year filled with challenges, designs, and unwavering dedication from the Eureka team. We’ve poured our hearts into creating thoughtful, inspiring spaces—some now built and buzzing with life, others in progress, and a few cherished as concepts.

To celebrate, we’re kicking off our 12 Days of Eureka today! Each day, we’ll “unwrap” one of our recent projects as a special gift to you—sharing the stories, inspirations, and joy behind them.

A huge thank you to our incredible team, partners, clients, and everyone who’s trusted us along the way. Here’s to an even brighter 2026!

Day 1: Three Whimsical Trees
Campus for YCIS Pudong Regency Park Early Childhood Education, Shanghai

Inspired by the graceful row of trees framing the two-storey school building during our very first site visit, this design transforms them into a dynamic, ever-changing backdrop for learning, play, and exploration.

By opening up the original pitched roof to reveal its full height and introducing three whimsical tree structures inside, we created a nurturing landscape where curiosity can truly flourish. Curved planes soften the rectilinear architecture, inviting natural light to dance through the space, gently dividing areas, and offering playful platforms for action and discovery. It’s a world designed for meaningful encounters and endless imagination.

Play, explore, learn.

Take a tour through our “Three Whimsical Trees”, a kindergarten project in Shanghai. We brought the outdoors in, creating a vertical landscape where kids are in charge of their own journey.

Two floors of learning spaces are connected with climbing structures, hidden nooks, and treehouses.

Learning shouldn’t just happen in a classroom—it should be an adventure.
