We are proud to introduce Michele Tagufa - Senior Interior Designer at Liquid Interiors, and one of the few designers in Hong Kong holding both WELL AP and BEAM Pro credentials.

What does that actually mean for our clients?

As a WELL Accredited Professional, Michele is certified by the International WELL Building Institute to design spaces that actively support human health - covering everything from indoor air quality and natural lighting to acoustics, thermal comfort and clean water access. It is not just about how a space looks. It is about how it makes you feel every single day.

As a BEAM Pro, she is certified to guide projects through the Hong Kong Green Building Council’s BEAM Plus standards - advising on sustainable materials, energy efficiency and the documentation required to achieve green building certification.

Together, these credentials mean that when Michele works on a project, wellness and sustainability are not added at the end. They are built into every decision from the start.

Michele believes that every home and space can be a step towards a healthier, more sustainable way of living is something that sits at the heart of everything we do at Liquid Interiors.

We are glad to have her leading our projects - and even more glad to see her credentials officially recognised.

Excited to share that our founder Rowena Gonzales will be speaking at ReThink HK 2026 on September 10.

ReThink is one of Asia's most respected forums for sustainable business and climate action - bringing together 500+ speakers across nine stages. We are proud to have a seat at that table alongside representatives of Ocean Park, United Technologies, RESOON and CplusE Eco Tech Limited.

Rowena will be presenting the Ladies' Recreation Club as a case study - a real-world example of how to balance wellness and sustainability in a large-scale commercial renovation. LRC The Hub & Arcade is certified as LEED ID+C Silver, and the project is one of the strongest examples we have of what happens when health, sustainability and genuine usability are all treated as equal priorities from day one.

This talk is particularly relevant for:

➡️ Private clubs thinking about their next renovation
➡️ Residential developers integrating wellness standards
➡️ Family offices planning multi-use or hospitality spaces

Luxury and sustainability can and must coexist. Rowena has been saying that for 17 years. On September 10 she will be saying it on a bigger stage.

Find out more about the event at https://lnkd.in/ggxE9EiE

We hope to see you there.

Date: September 10, 2026

HOME TRANSFORMATION

BEFORE ↓
A home full of history. Original Art Deco bones, architectural details that had been there for decades - doors, hardware, structure that told a story worth keeping.

AFTER ↓
Shanghainese Art Deco | Hong Kong

This was not a blank canvas project. It was about understanding what already existed and making it better - not erasing it.

The original doors stayed. The architectural details were preserved and restored. The Art Deco character of the home was the brief, not something to design around.

What changed:

🏛️ Original structure and period details preserved throughout
🙌 A daybed that converts to a sofa - the same room working harder
🪵 Natural materials layered in alongside the existing architecture
💡 Lighting designed to highlight what was already beautiful about the space

Shanghainese Art Deco. East meets West. Old soul, new life.

For this Shanghainese Art Deco kitchen, our design story centers on keeping meaningful history alive—honoring the client’s late father by preserving original architectural details while elevating the space for modern everyday life.

From custom cabinetry motifs to warm, layered lighting and rich textures, every finish strikes a balance between timeless classic character and functional luxury.

Swipe to see how historic details meet modern, everyday elegance. 🌿

What if Emily in Paris had a Hong Kong episode?🤎

We like to think it would look something like this.

Our client came to us with a very clear vision - a home that felt Parisian. Classic architecture, period details, the kind of space that feels like it has always been there.

Challenge accepted.

The moulding on the walls. The antique grill work. The mirrors that catch the light from the balcony and make the whole entrance feel twice the size. Sliding doors hiding a shoe cabinet - because of course they do.

Is it Paris? No. Does it feel like you should be in a silk robe with an espresso and zero plans for the morning? Absolutely.

Some homes carry more than a design brief. They carry a history worth preserving.

Shanghainese Art Deco was designed around one wish - to honour the character and story of a family home while making it feel completely alive again. The original architectural details, the Art Deco bones, the hardware that gave the space its soul. Nothing with meaning was taken away lightly.

Shanghainese Art Deco. East meets West. Old soul, new life.

Something beautiful is almost ready.

Victorian Retreat - a colonial home reimagined around warmth, natural materials and period character. We are putting the finishing touches on this one and we cannot wait to share it.

Our client grew up in a home shaped by her father - a furniture collector who deeply loved Shanghainese art and architecture. Every piece he chose, every detail he kept, told you something about who he was.

When she came back to redesign the home, she did not want to erase any of it. Keeping the home’s original essence was, in its own way, keeping him alive.

The original Art Deco doors were still there. The hardware, the architectural bones, the details that made the space feel like it had a past worth keeping. Our job was not to start from scratch. It was to honour what was already there and bring it forward - carefully, without losing what made it meaningful.

Every new piece was chosen to feel like it had always been there. Shanghainese Art Deco - East meets West - old soul, new life.

This is what it looks like when a home is redesigned around a story, not just a brief.

Do you have a space that holds a story worth keeping?

As Liquid Interiors celebrates 17 years, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the beautiful journey we’ve shared. Our summer luau party brought that feeling to life — laughter, dancing (yes, even the dads!), and the joy of seeing our children play together just as we once worked side by side.

We’ve grown through so many chapters together: marriages, babies, milestones, challenges, triumphs. These aren’t just colleagues — they’re people who have become part of my life in the most meaningful ways.
Work takes up most of our waking hours, and I feel blessed that mine are spent with people who care deeply about wellness, sustainability, and each other. We’re here for a purpose, and living that purpose together is a gift.

To my Liquid Interiors family — thank you for 17 unforgettable years. Here’s to many more. 🌺✨

Yours,
Rowena

This is what circadian lighting actually looks like in a home - cool and bright in the morning to wake you up, warm and golden by afternoon, dim and intimate by evening to wind your body down naturally.

It is not just atmospheric. It is designed to work with your body clock - supporting your energy, your focus and your sleep without you having to think about it.
