[HKIDW 2025: Congratulations🎊to Craft of Both for winning the Silver Award🎖at the International Design Awards 2025]

To encourage and promote Hong Kong design on international platforms, the HKIDW 2025 project provides subsidies for designers to use the project furniture to apply for various international design awards. It is encouraging and honorable that one of the HKIDW project furniture “Moon Series” has just won the Silver Award at the International Design Awards 2025.

Craft of Both, in partnership with MADE , presents the ‘Moon Series’; a modular, sculptural seating language in a constant state of unfolding. Inspired by the iconic, rhythmic geometry of the Chinese Paper Fan - and its dynamic ability to claim and carve three-dimensional space - the Moon Series is realized as two discrete, yet complementary forms; the ‘Moon Chair’ (60°) and the ‘Moon Bench’ (120°).

‍The precise radial geometry of the Moon Series’ fixed, rhythmic timber structure sets a stage – an evocative, inhabitable framework that invites us to engage in a theatrical yet meditative ‘fan dance’ via the addition of modular, customizable fan modules anywhere along its span. This extensive flexibility offers constant and comprehensive redefinition of the form, footprint and silhouette of each piece (and the surrounding space) according to preference or need. Via the combination of 2 or more Moon Chairs or Benches, an extended sculptural landscape unfolds, where a ‘choreography’ of fans controls, orientation, privacy, comfort and aesthetic.

[HKIDW 2025: Congratulations🎉 to Gud Gud Studio for winning the Silver Award🎖️at the FRAME Awards 2025]

To encourage and promote Hong Kong design on international platforms, the HKIDW 2025 project provides subsidies for designers to use the project furniture to apply for various international design awards. It is encouraging and honorable that one of the HKIDW project furniture “Aeon Chair” has just won the Silver Award at the FRAME Awards 2025.

About “Aeon Chair”
"Aeon Chair" is a furniture designed by Stepan Angus Gudev of Gud Gud Studio and produced by One Production. Aeon could be translated as “age” or an “indefine and very long period of time”. The essence of this chair is longevity thanks to its steel structure, that should withstand the test of time. The second layer/padding is made of fabric or yarn that is weaved in so it can be changed anytime. This principle allows the chair to be reinvented and reborn when the fabric - padding becomes stylistically outdated or just damaged. The initial idea was to use old clothing or recycled yarn as padding to make the chair sustainable and true to its name.
In regard to the aesthetics and shaping of the chair, using archetypical chair outline came as natural choice. Steel tubes create continuous loops that can be attached and detached in case of assembly and disassembly or as an extension to sofa like composition.
