🌕🐟Ma telihold van a Vízöntő jegyében, vagy más néven az augusztusi Tokhal-hold.
🐟🐟💫
Full Moon in Aquarius today, also known as the Sturgeon Moon. Read some fun facts about Sturgeon fish bellow:
🌕
1. The sturgeon is more than 200 million years old as a species – it already swam in Earth’s waters during the time of the dinosaurs, making it a true “living fossil.”
🐟
2. It is one of the largest freshwater fish in the world – the beluga sturgeon can grow up to 6 meters long and weigh several hundred kilos. Many sturgeon species are anadromous, meaning they migrate between fresh and salt water.
🐟
3. Sturgeons can live up to 80–100 years, which also means they grow and reproduce slowly, making them vulnerable to overfishing.
🐟
4. The world-famous caviar comes from sturgeon roe, with some rare varieties, like beluga caviar, being worth thousands of dollars per kilo.
🐟
5. Instead of regular fish scales, their bodies are covered in hard bony plates arranged in five rows, giving them a prehistoric, armored appearance.
🐟
6. In North America, the name “Sturgeon Moon” comes from a time when August’s full moon marked the peak season for catching sturgeon in the Great Lakes and nearby rivers.
🐟
7. In Hungary, sturgeon species like the sterlet and the beluga used to live naturally in the Danube, but today wild populations are protected and extremely rare.
