This historical work, first published in Venice in 1629 by the Don Fortunato Olmo, recounts the secret visit of Pope Alexander III to Venice in 1177. The narrative describes the pivotal events that led to the reconciliation between Pope Alexander III and Emperor Frederick I , known as the Peace of Venice. Central to the account is Doge Sebastiano Ziani, whose diplomatic skills secured a significant victory for Venice and helped restore peace between the papacy and the empire. The book blends historical detail with elements of Venetian legend, emphasizing the city’s role as a stage for diplomacy and spiritual authority in the late twelfth century.

Camillo (c.1513–1573) was an and whose Ricordo d’Agricoltura (first printed in 1567) introduced one of the earliest systematic proposals for rotation in Europe. By encouraging the cultivation of fodder crops alongside cereals, he helped improve soil fertility, livestock raising, and overall agricultural productivity.

The #1772 edition, revised by Gian Francesco , added notes and folding tables, including lunar phase charts and Venetian weight measures, turning the work into both a practical farming manual and a continuation of Tarello’s reform.
