A couple of fresh Marri pieces off the bench this week.

This tree died a few years back on a farm in Warradarji and was eventually felled for the safety of the livestock. We milled it ourselves, and these boards were made from the very first sample slabs that came off the log — a nice way to honour the tree’s second life.

Both are finished in Walrus Oil for that warm, natural glow.

This piece of timber has been milled then set aside, then flattened, set aside, sanded, set aside, sanded set aside, you get the picture.
So many different ideas were floated arround this piece and many of them started but I was never happy with how it was looking so it was set aside to gather dust. But finally I have settled on its final form and that meant revealing some unreal character. This has a bit of everything in it.
This piece and its partner cut will be come a pair of smaller serving boards. And will be available for purchase in the coming weeks. But for now take in its stunning natural beauty.

A couple of weekends ago a good friend came arround with a plan to make a side table. Ive never made a side table with timber legs but we gave it a crack.

Very happy with the finished product. Amanda helped the entire project and got in with the saws, sanders and oils.

Timber: acacia

Nearly 10 months from when i started this bohemoth of a brisket/charquterie board its finally finished.

This stunning piece of WA Jarrah was grown in Sawyers Valley and was fell in 2021.
Measuring in at 1.3m long and 45cm wide at the bottom, it weighs in at 7.9kg

Normally i wouldnt take 10 mo ths to make a board but unfortunatly this board was being leveled when my cnc suffered a major failure and destroyed a $100 surfacing bit and other damage with the final bill coming in at nearly $600. So not onky the longest board to make but the costliest too.

This one will be staying in my own personal collection but i do have some other boards from the same log. Hit me up if you would like something similar.
