Living away from home is strange because you can be happy where you are and still miss where you came from.

It’s not always dramatic. Sometimes it’s just a small thing that catches you off guard and reminds you that part of you is still there.

Ireland changes when you leave it, but the connection doesn’t disappear.

A few days off work. Hiking across Wicklow. Beyond lucky with the weather. The sun just keeps shinning. There's no place like Ireland when the sun is out.

I get asked a lot how many members are in the club. Way more than you’d think. And the truth is, I’ve stopped answering.
Because whether I say 100 or 1,000, the reaction depends entirely on who’s asking. It can feel as though they’re trying to decide whether the number is impressive, disappointing, or what it “should” be. But there is no magic number that makes this club meaningful. There are real people behind every membership, choosing to make room for a little more Irish culture, creativity and connection in their lives.
That’s the number I care about.

Maybe it’s an Irish thing, or maybe it’s just me, but announcing membership figures has always felt a bit too much like standing on a chair and shouting, “Look how well I’m doing!” I know plenty of post clubs share their numbers, and fair play to them, but it has never felt like my style.
The club is growing, the post keeps going out, and I’m very grateful to every person receiving it.
