We all start with the same tools and the same sample card, but inevitably we all come out with slightly different cards. My card making workshops are about showing you a way to express your creativity. I’m not the art police, you do you! Especially because my friend Anne and I were always the worst offenders for straying from the sample when we were at our card workshops led by the fabulous Lizzie Verdejo .

This month’s make was a bit of a complicated one, but by the end of the card making workshop, everyone got there. This is probably one of the hardest cards we’ve made in my workshops so far, but I do always try to include one new fun fold card each month. My nine-year-old and I were playing around with some colour. We each did four of these. Which two quadrants do you think are mine and which two quadrants do you think are his? We weren’t trying to make anything specific, just playing around making some colourful backgrounds or sheets we will use to punch flowers or letters out of.

In our monthly card workday today, we tried adding glycerin to ink for a smother blending experience when making these sunrise cards. We also used the alcohol markers for some subtle blending on our flow bouquets. I guess blending was the theme of the day!

Sometimes it really pays off to have 20 years worth of stamps on hand! I had a few tiny thank you stamps i could use on the spine of the book for this thank you card, which is from the primary school librarians to the front office staff.
