Moody Hues

Moody Hues Art inspired by nature and created with passion. About Us

Moody Hues was born from my love of all things creative and my passion for art and colour. Susan

Vibrant and intense colour combinations create a range of tones and movement within each piece often portraying the the familiar in a unique and expressive way. What started out as a hobby soon became a desire to share my passion with others. I love how art and colour transcends all languages, encapsulates the imagination, and enables everyone to connect with it in their own way. I’m fascinated wi

th how the use of colour and different colour combinations can evoke different emotions and moods. For example, blue, green and purple tones can have a calming and soothing quality, while red and yellow tones can be associated with energy and warmth. Not to forget pink (my little girl’s favourite!), said to evoke feelings of joy and creativity. And that’s where the name ‘Moody Hues’ came from. My art is hugely inspired by nature and my local surroundings. Some pieces are quite naturalistic while others are more abstract. I enjoy the freeness of the abstract but also love representing iconic landmarks or seascapes from where I grew up in North County Dublin and different landscapes that represent my Irish heritage. I use vibrant and intense colour combinations to create a range of tones and movement within each piece, often portraying the familiar in a unique and expressive way. I create original art pieces on different mediums including ceramic and glass. I also create custom pieces to individual preferences on request. All images are created, printed and framed in Ireland. If you’d like to find out more please have a look in the gallery, keep updated on upcoming events, or contact us directly. We’d love to hear from you and welcome you on this exciting new journey with Moody Hues.

Where you had your first date is a common theme when choosing a commissioned piece of art for your nearest & dearest and the Porterhouse North in Glasnevin was that place for this couple. It's so nice to be asked to create something that on the face of it looks like a landmark art deco building but for some holds much more meaning & happy memories ❣️

Main Street, Malahide

Finally created a little image of Main Street, Malahide....such a hub of community in the heart of this vibrant seaside village.
And you can't fully represent Malahide without incorporating one of its most established iconic social hubs - Gibneys :)
